Called the property manager he was rude and hung up then blocked my call. This all happened because I asked for a discount.

Greedy owner! Tried to stay at Zen Underground a while back, now finally had the time to review it. On the day of our booking, we arrived at around 6pm, only to find out the room was given to other people. The owner took us to his 'backup place' and let us stay there. Apparently, the owner deliberately let people over book and move some of them to another very 'onground' room that is not properly maintained, and you still pay the same price! Such a greedy owner, book here if you want to be tricked.

Turned up at 4.30pm the place was not clean..The toilet was dirty, the beds not made and looked like someone was sleeping it in, the sink and kitchen was dirty, the towels in bathroom where dirty, the place looked nothing like advertised. Tried to call to get help from owner and received no reply. At 4.30 pm we had to go and find another place to sleep which in cober Pedy is hard. We had to drive another 555km to Port augusta at 4.30pm to get a bed. Beware still fighting to get our money back.

We found the accommodation to be clean and lovely presented however, we booked using Airbnb and we noticed this property is no longer advertised on here. We did not get any instructions for check in. Nothing. I had to call Paul to ask how we check in. After I called on arrival we were advised that there were no towels and that they would come by later with some. After waiting 2 and half hours I called again and was advised that they had forgotten and that we should use the old towels that were kept in the laundry. They were threadbare and hard and did not smell nice but we had no choice but to use them and we had paid a lot of money to stay here. There was a dirty face washer in the bathroom and the dishwasher had not been emptied. I had to empty the dishwasher from the people who had stayed here previous to us, there was a used face washer in the bathroom and we were not provided a clean one. We were very disappointed that we were not informed prior to arrival that the TV did not work and had not done so for some time. We spent one night on a mattress that SHOULD NOT have been used. It was the worst sleep we have ever had! The next day Paul replaced the mattress as he advised us that he had complaints about the mattress. Paul's communication is not good. When you do get hold of him, he is helpful but I had to do all the chasing. Every time I spoke to him, I always advised that he had 7 properties so was busy. The property is a little of out town but an easy drive into town. I thought it provided value for money but as we had so many issues we would not stay here again or recommend this place. There are a lot nicer places to stay.

I've always wanted to check out the underground accommodation at Coober Pedy, ever since hearing about it as a kid. Since I am now grown up and have kids of my own I decided it was time to make it happen. I convinced my kids it was a real-life version of Minecraft, so they were excited too.The first impression on entering this place was astonishment. It was just so big. I had imagined that underground homes would be smaller, with smaller rooms. But the main living area was enormous, as was the end bedroom - it was seriously large. The layout of the place was really nice, it curved around a central courtyard, which allowed plenty of light in.The inside was really nicely done up, with nice furniture. The single beds in the end bedroom were massive. There was a table in the main living area made out of a single massive piece of wood, it would probably have cost a lot of money. But there was also an old sofa which was falling to pieces in a reading nook area, bits of the covering literally flaked off onto the floor and onto my clothes when I sat on it.Coober Pedy itself was lovely too, I'm glad I visited. The whole experience was even better than I had anticipated.

One of the most fantastic places I've ever stayed. Underground cave rooms are full of character to appreciate and explore and the porch" with a glass roof is the perfect way to stay cool with an outside vibe. Everything from the furniture to the decor is crafted well and makes for a fun night trying out the Coober Pedy lifestyle!"

This place is amazing. Paul was so helpful, obliging & informative too. If you want to try a bit of luxury in Coober Pedy, stay here. Sleeps 10 if need be... absolutely spacious even with 10 people. Big screen TV, loads of tables to eat at, two bathrooms, big laundry... we absolutely loved it!!!
