I’m no expert lol but I’ve eaten a fair few butter chickens and this was not butter chicken… it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it all. My understanding of butter chicken is it is a westernised curry that is supposed to be mild in flavour, creamy tomato, sweet to a degree via cashew. This was not sweet, was very spicy… no creaminess to it. Glad I didn’t order this for my kids and was just my lunch.. the garlic nan was also very thick. Like a supermarket nan. Not sure if this was just an off day for this establishment or this is how they serve they’re butter chicken. Some people may enjoy it however it was very disappointing for me. Sorry guys… far too spicy for butter chicken. Won’t be ordering again

Really a great find and the food is prepared in most authentic way.. Owner is very attentive and gives detailed info of the food items.. we ordered panner pallipalayam, chicken chettinad, eggplant fry masala, parotta, kongu briyani rice, coolant and gulab jamun - every item tasted awesome..

Wow… I’m writing this review before I even open the takeout containers because before trying the food, I needed to review this place. First of all we were greeted by a lovely man at front desk who accommodated for our first visit at this restaurant. Little did we know this would involve 8 samples from their curries to ensure we are not only picking what we liked BUT an AUTHENTIC INDIAN FLAVOUR! He told us how the common favourites were actually of Scottish heritage and that he wanted to give customers the chance to explore beyond the “butter chicken”. And thank goodness we did. DELICIOUS!! And obviously we changed our order afterwards. We gave him a tip and in return he gave us complimentary sugar cane juice (AMAZING) and a lovely farewell on our way out. All this service for a Thursday night takeaway meal. And now I can’t wait to taste it!

The restaurant offers samples of their curries along with the menu - this gave us a chance to taste the curries before we ordered a larger portion - a different concept at a sit-down restaurant! The owner was a great host and indulged us with the history of how some of the dishes on the menu were discovered.Lots of seating and quick service. Located close to the Nerang Street tram station!

Proper authentic Indian food from South side cooking. Not your tikka or shahi types. Limited menu but served with a smile. Service could be slow and at time not attended timely, be prepared to wait a bit. But the food is worth the wait and I would definitely recommended to tourist who are visiting with family. Not a lot of starters mainly focusing on maincourse. Bryani or Bryani rice is a must try.

Restaurant owners are nice people, food was moderately good and price is reasonable. I felt the taste wasn’t upto the level that I expected, spicy yes. Sample food to taste seemed great idea

This place is really good!! The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing and calm. You can tell they are knowledgeable and that their first goal is keeping their clients satisfied. The food is excellent, including some traditional Indian dishes and some with modern twists, and it is definitely worth the price.

Okay, Not Going To Lie. I Have Struggled With The Rating for This Restaurant. After Reading MANY Google Reviews From Fellow Google Reviewers.I Finally Paid a Visit To Indish - Indian Restaurant Located on Scarborough Street Southport.Visited Sunday 3/7 at 12.15 pm.First Impressions - NOT Great. Exterior Windows & Glass Doors Were Dirty & the Restaurant Appeared Closed !!I Pushed Open the Door & Asked if They Were Open. The Waitress Who was Setting Up Advised Yes.Had Checked Google for the Menu & Tandoori Chicken was on the Lunch Special Menu. After Ordering, The Manager/Owner Advised, They Didn’t Have Tandoori Chicken, (Must be the Only “Authentic” Indian Restaurant that Doesn’t Have Tandoori Chicken Available !!).Not to Worry, She Will Substitute With a Chicken Tikka Lunch Special, Which Includes a Can of Soft Drink. Also Ordered a Mango Lassi, Butter Naan, Ordered the Cucumber Salad, which was Somehow Substituted for Raita (yoghurt Dip) & Also Ordered Papadums. The Chicken Tikka Arrived First. No Soft Drink or Lassi. Went to the Fridge & Grabbed a Can of Drink. The Mango Lassi & Naan Took Over 30 minutes to Arrive. The Yogurt & Papadums Took 50 minutes. To The Waitresses Credit, She Apologised & Admitted to Forgetting Them !!On The Plus Side, Everything Tasted Fabulous, Although the Tikka Dish Was Fairly Small. The Tikka, The Naans, The Lassi, Dip & Papadums Were Beautifully Presented & Very Good.
