Poor customer services. The girl has unwelcome attitude, rude behavior.Guys if you want to win the Lottery, don’t come here go somewhere else as staff here will not bring you any lucks at all.

Very bad, I bought lotto tickets from this shop once using my credit card and they entered as cash transaction so I was charged by my credit card bank as Cash transaction. I called to let the shop know , I get a very rude guy denied it. I have been used credit card to purchase lotto tickets a lot of times in different newsagencies and never had any issues at all.After receiving your reply, my bank advised me that you should enter as Credit not cash in your machine unless you do not have this function. This is the first time I was charged as cash advance by using credit card to purchase goods including a lot of time for lotto tickets in other shops. This review is just for warning others to be careful by using credit card when purchase good from your shop. If you have been told me this, I would use by debit card instead of credit card. There is other review below mention the same issue with your shop.

The place is cramped and dingy. From every past experience (there weren't too many though) the owner wasn't very friendly at all and he makes you wait at the counter until he's ready to serve you - when you're the only customer! The newsagency at Maylands Park near IGA is a lot better and they are actually friendly, what a revelation. The owner of Hoffman's needs to learn how to treat customers right, he runs it like he's the only newsagent within 1000km.

A local treasure in the Maylands area. Also a handy place to check your lotto ticket on Sunday. I’ve had two winning tickets from here so I can only assume it is situated on a some powerful ley lines imbuing the business with powerful, good fortune, energy.

What a great store. The new owners have done an amazing job at transforming this store. You can now get gifts, greeting card, wrap and your lotto at the same time. Great local store worth a visit.

Yes the owner is rude and yes the shop barely passes as a news paper stand in downtown Chernobyl. But if I am feeling down on myself and questioning the point in living I head to Hoffman's to pick up a paper.The guy who runs it is Maylands own Basil Fawlty minus the comedy. It could be a viscous cycle ie grumpy slightly on the nose business owner turns away customers ....so said owner takes annoyance out on few remaining customers. Either way I can always rely on old Hoffman's to remind me that life is beautiful.

Rude guy who runs out checking if you are actually buying something from the centre. I had to grab some sweets quickly and would have gone to the IGA but he jumped on me so quickly that I told him I would never buy anything from this set of stores because of his rude behaviour.

Processed my lotto ticket transaction as a cash advance from my credit card, so now I'm stuck with a cash advance fee and interest from my bank, very poor practice, AVOID..!!
