What a great experience, the food was excellent and the wine tasting, (which is included in the price of meals), is brilliant idea and concept. The service was also top notch. This place is well worth the drive out to Morpeth.

We have eaten here several times and in fact did a last minute getaway this time just to eat at boydels. Started well with a very tasty Jerusalem artichoke soup. But unfortunately from there it was straight into the pit of taste despair. The mushroom ragu was tasteless, I’m mystified as to how you can remove all flavour from mushrooms, the sardine dish was ok but nothing to rave about and the mains…cassoulet of raw beans and tasteless croquettes. Beef cheek was dry and tough with a bitter sauce. I’m sorry to write this review but unless something changes we won’t go back. On a positive note the staff are lovely

We were delighted to dine at Boydell’s restaurant with a last minute call request due a previous business making a double booking.Rodney made us feel very welcomed, not rushed and accommodated our table from time to time just to check in with our dining experience. We felt that the table service was exceptional with information and table service attentiveness.The meals were very experimental and delicious as well the cocktails, not to mention the selective wines we indulged.Overall, the dining experience was exceptional and I’m thankful for the last minute reservation.Recommended to visit this business for a moment is experience.

Consistently impressive food without being pretentious. My partner and I had a wonderful night here again.The service is excellent - very down to Earth and professional without seeming practiced. Much appreciated!Great value for money for what a beautiful place it is.

Fantastic food and service coupled with lovely wines. Our group of 5 shared entrees and each was very enjoyable. The main was just right and their potatoes were superb. And the dessert was perfect and a picture. We'll be back for sure.The setting is an historic slab hut.

What a wonderful dining experience at Boydell’s! We were welcomed by warm friendly staff and promptly seated before tasting some delicious original cocktails and provided with an in-depth explanation of the menu options. The food and wine was exceptional and topped off with a nice little surprise from the chef at the end. Great service and ambience.

Fantastic restaurant..A hidden gems in Morpeth. Food is absolutely beautiful and delicious (check out photos) not just good looking but so tasty. Fine dining! Not too expensive, great service and atmosphere. Absolutely love every dishes I have tried. Restaurant is happy to accommodate some of the food restrictions for our group..You just need to tell them e.g. no nut etc.

We dined at Boydells for lunch last Friday. The restaurant Manager Rodney was exceptional in making us feel so welcome, he explained all the dishes and introduced us to some delicious Boydell’s wines. All the staff were warm and welcoming, the food is beautifully presented and delicious. The ambience was just as you would expect from a beautifully appointed country restaurant. Boydells also has a lovely little cocktail bar attached to the restaurant. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful restaurant when we next visit Morpeth. Highly recommended.
