Rheem Solar Specialist Balcatta

Purchased in 2009 - whole length of tank split early 2013 and was leaking, hence the dripping from my roof. System was still under 6 year warranty (parts only). Called Edwards (1st phone call) who immediately hand balled me to their external contractor who repair the systems. Called contractor (2nd phone call) who was very helpful but told me they won't start a job without a work order from Edwards, approximate cost of installing new system $500 plus. Tank was faulty so was understandably reluctant to pay if the same thing will happen in another few years. May as well use that money to spend on water by getting a gas system.Called Edwards back (3rd phone call) and was advised to call the manufacturer of the tank (Rheem). Called Rheem (4th phone call) who were extremely helpful and provided excellent service. After to'ing and fro'ing, had the faulty tank replaced. Total process took approximately 3 weeks. Edwards were absolutely useless, no after care service whatsoever. Didn't care one bit by hand balling me straight to their contractor / supplier. Didn't take any responsibility for their product which they endorse with their name on it, didn't offer to call supplier once and didn't assist at all with resolving the matter. If this is the case why not go supplier direct? Had a solar hart for over 20 years without fault. This is the first and last time I will ever buy an Edwards system.
