The Brightside Brisbane

This venue is really great. The venue manager who I spoke to was able to help me immediately to find the accessible seating and made me feel really welcome. Drink prices are reasonable and the vibe is good

It's an awesome little venue I would be excited to work at as a technician one day. The inside and outside bar combo works really well. It's run well, and a lot of good staff dealing with my drunk companions at the time.

Ignore the sensitive children with allergies to sweat and the smell of urine. FFS! Find me any club filled with hundreds of people that doesn't heat up or, even more challenging, a public toilet that won't eventually stink. Seriously people!That being said, The Brightside is an intimate venue with a clever layout that allows for decent vantage points and easy access to-and-from the stage area/mosh. They host an array of bands across multiple genres, and I've had the privilege of seeing some amazing acts as a result.Ticket prices are generally reasonable, while drinks are the same as any other bar or club; more expensive than having them at home! Again, no shock or surprise there. A public car park is literally 30 metres down the street so that's a huge bonus, as are the nearby taxi ranks and train station.Overall, The Brightside is a cool band venue that plays its part in the Valley music scene. I've never had any issues there and consider myself a loyal customer.

Needs more seating and the toilets area cleaned. Was gagging from the smell of pee before I even got into the actual bathroom. Awesome music though.

Awesome! The Emo vs Neko event is one of the best clubbing experiences you'll have. Everyone was so friendly and happy!

Nice small music venue.Bar didn't appear to stock premixed drinks. Til at bar was under the bar so you couldn't see how much your drinks were. Card tap to pay for drinks was one of the small white square ones. No prices displayed.

Terrific venue.Went on a small event night with paid entry. It is a small location but it was just cosy enough and not too packed. The front garden on entry is the smoking area, although it does not have ashtrays.Location is normally accessible by a small set of stairs to the right, and I would not consider it wheelchair accessible. There are also steps inside leading down toward the stage, and steps leading down to access the bathrooms.The bathrooms were relatively clean with lots of stalls, but absolutely not accessible for those with mobility needs and no disabled women's stall. I also had note from a friend, there are no locks on the stalls in the men's bathroom.Drink price is on par with other venues, two bars (indoor and outdoor) and free water on request.Vibe was excellent with all patrons being incredibly respectful and it was a lovely atmosphere. Other patrons assisted a friend to find her necklace on the dance floor and otherwise felt quite safe at this venue.There are convenience stores at either end of the entry road with snacks and ATM's.Had a mental breakdown on the dance floor and the bouncer gave me a lovely pep talk and big hug.Great spot for a night out
