I visited Terry because of lower back and foot pain. I was restricted to walking for a maximum of 10 minutes before the pain became too severe. After only a few visits the pain had subsided considerably and now after 3 months of skillful and competent massage therapy from Terry I can walk comfortably for as long as I like. A monthly maintenance massage from the friendly staff at Rubdownes has me feeling like a new person. I highly recommend them.

After tearing my hamstring I went to see Terry at Rub Downes for treatment. Terry treated my injury using both remedial massage and myofascial dry needling (which I had never tried before). Terry is knowledgeable, professional and friendly and explained every technique in detail prior to the treatment. Terry had me back up and running after two weeks! Terry Downes is my go-to guy whenever I want to rebuild myself from being worn down from the stresses of life and tight from training hard, be it crossfit or water polo. Most massage therapists don’t do half as good as a job as him at really getting into and releasing the knots. Terry was recommended to me by Queenslands Sports Medical Centre to assist with my rehab for back and neck pain. Over the years I have had massages from many different people to help with sporting and posture related stiffness, some good and some not so good. I place Terry among the best of the best. Recently I struggled for months with headaches and neck pain. After the first session my range had drastically improved and I walked out practically pain free (although was sore the next day). The neck pain did return however over the next few visits Terry managed to break the chronic pain cycle and together with some home stretching exercises I am now pain free. Terry's wealth of experience, enthusiasm and genuine desire to get you back on track are just a few of the reasons why I highly recommend him to my friends and family.

We would highly recommend Terry, he is an awesome massage therapist, who keeps my teenage son (a competitive swimmer) in good working order. Anyone who knows swimming knows how gruelling and intense the training can be on the body. And so regular massage from Terry is an important part of his regime to keep injury free. Terry’s experience working with athletes and his knowledge about the muscles in the body that are used in swimming was just what we were looking for in a massage therapist.

I highly recommend Terry and his staff, they are highly skilled and have helped me immensely with post-operative rehabilitation.Terry assessed my situation and helped me to avoid having a secondary hospital procedure after having extensive reconstructive surgery to my right knee. Before seeing Terry I had severely limited range and freedom of movement in the knee, however Terry was able to very effectively break down the scar tissue built up and was a key reason that I was able to get the range of movement I now have. I cannot begin to recommend him enough.

I have been a regular client of Terry's for nine months now. I do regular triathlons which requires a lot of training and thus very sore and tired muscles. Terry helps alleviate any aches and pains, helps prevent injuries and helps me to feel refreshed and ready to train again.
