Doon Reserve Caravan Park
A beautiful reserve nestled into multiple bends in the upper Yarra River, with a profusion of towering gums hovering over green camping lawns. Run by the indefatigable Jason who cheerfully solved all our little problems. A great spot for both adults and kids, and it’s just beyond the outskirts of Melbourne!

We parked our caravan in Zone 11 which is the quiet zone. And it was. Very spacious sites too. I loved that I could hire a fire drum. We all sat around the fire on both nights. A paddle down the river was a nice treat and not too cold. Toilets and showers very clean and water was hot. Thanks for a great weekend.

Yay for more traditional camping. Relaxed and disconnected. Sure there were families and kids, but not like others with central hub full of kids, playgrounds, bitumen through the middle and hectic noise. Instead peace listening to the water flow along the river and space between camp sites.

Its good floating on a tire tube here on a hot day. Jump into the river and let it take you downstrem. Jump back out and in the spot where the river does a u turn and walk across to do it again. Good fun.

We stayed over a wet Easter weekend, the staff/owners were very helpful and coped very well with the full park. They seemed to be attentive to everyone.Highly recommend this camp ground

Wonderful place for family. Would highly recommend.Had some issues with neighbour site. They’ve put their camper trailer over to our site. But Justin, who look after the park came over to assist us with the issue. He was very helpful and understanding. The issue was easily solved.Rabbits, ducks, birds were everywhere. Feel so close to nature. The Yarra river was great fun for kids.The only downside was bugs. They were everywhere in the tent and toilets. Then again it’s because you are so close to the nature.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the river was gorgeous with goose and ducks etc. I would have loved for a bit more space at our sites and there was no recycling which was rather disappointing.

Loved the overall experience here. The short distance from here to town is very convenient. There is easy access to the rail trail and heaps of river frontage so it is ideal for active families. They have a wide variety of sites to cater for a lot of different groups. The facilities were in amazing condition and there was enough of them that even an Easter rush didn't make it seem crowded.My only criticism is that there is no fenced area to let your dog off leash, which is a common theme in the area.Aside from that, highly recommend and cannot wait to return.

Good old school camping, we got moved due to them trying to grow grass but we didn't mind. It's a beautiful location. The river is amazing but I would bring a decent floaty not a cheap one, the amount of popped floats we have seen is crazy. It's a great area for families and singles. Toilets are cleaned every morning., owners come and check on everyone before closing up. Very friendly we are still here due to leave in the morning.We love it and plan on coming back.

Thanks for a lovely stay. I wasn't sure what to expect as first time guests. Workers were super helpful whenever I needed any kind of help. Facilities Inc toilets/ showers and laundry was nice and clean. Park was a huge hit for our kids. Loved the shades spaces.Thank you.
