My husband and I stayed in a deluxe cabin on this property. The owners Phil & Jillian could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend a stay at this property. Quiet and serene. The kangaroos are very up close and personal. Thank you Phil & Jillian we had a lovely stay.

Look elsewhere if you're looking for a busy, carnival type atmosphere that is often associated with the large chains of caravan parks.This is a scenic, spacious, peaceful caravan park for more intrepid travellers who are looking for somewhere to relax in nature, away from the crowds in this well kept, functional, older style bush caravan park.New owners are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Awesome camp site, we got the powered site, it wasn’t given a grass patch, so it was sandy. Toilet needs a lift. Other than that, it was great. Roos greet us in the morning, quiet and short drive to all hikes. Will recommend.

Happy Wanderer Holiday Resort
Cosy stay in charmingly retro no-frills “log” cabin. Hosts were welcoming and provided complimentary water and wine - very nice local drop that kept the home fires burning. Room was clean and functional. Comfy beds. Nice big piece of land with sweeping views and outdoor tables for morning coffee. North West Gariwerd/ Grampians are a great place to explore by car, bike and foot (did all three).

Stayed at the 2 bedrooms cabin there and my wife and kids loved it. Will definitely be back again and the price was very reasonable. Easy access to Mackenzie Falls and Balcony from there and about 40 minutes away from Halls Gap.

Don’t be fooled by the word resort style. The location is fabulous but the amenities are a disaster. No hot water from the taps, not clean and very hot on warm days. There is a form at the door saying there will be a full renovation but that does not mean that it doesn’t need cleaning when used by guests. There is no filtered water for drinking or cooking on the premises. Bring enough with you or buy at the camp shop. Sites not levelled. Kitchen is huge, but no fan or airco to blow the heat away. No cutlery or pottery. Big cooking range working fine. But also here, no cleaning the 3 days we were here.

I was last at the Grampians and stayed at The Happy Wanderer 30 years ago as a teenager and wanted to take my own family back to experience this wonderful spot and holiday park - and it did not disappoint! The HW itself was exactly as I remember and even though is a bit tired (new owners plan to upgrade many areas this year I believe) it has actually aged really well and still has all the amenities I remember enjoying as a young teen. We stayed over the Easter break and the owners, Phil and Jill, went above and beyond to make it so much fun! We had a coffee van visit every morning, Easter eggs delivered to our front door on Easter Sunday and they even organised live local music to come and play in the park for Easter night.So much for kids to do, tennis courts, pool, play ground, bike riding around the property and just appreciating tranquillity and nature and getting off the devices!We will be back! (bear in mind when reading these reviews the park is under NEW management and many of he negative reviews were before Phil and Jill took over)Just book it and enjoy!!

Great location, good amenities, incredible wildlife, and the shop has a bit of everything.The log cabin has all you need but it could be cleaner, there were small fezes (maybe from rats or cockroaches) with the cutlery and dishes. And the door was open so there were many flies inside the cabin. It took a while to clean everything so we could use it and relax inside.

Great location to explore the northern Grampians. New owners are lovely and very helpful. I chose the bush camping location which is like staying in your own private park! Shops is well stocked. Kitchen and games room are great, amenities block are clean but need renewal (plans for these to be replaced in 2023). Overall what you get for what you pay is great value
