Absolutely fantastic! On holiday from Scotland and staying in Armidale for 1 night. Despite being fully booked we were accommodated with a table outside which was just fine. The owner and all of his staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food was great.A memorable experience on our trip that we will remember for a long time. Not to be missed if you are in Armidale!

The Cottage has something I've been searching for in Armidale. Struggling with coeliacs it's hard to eat out for the night without running a risk contamination. What the Cottage offers is not only phenomenal service, with attentive wait staff who take dietary requirements seriously and Shane who has a passion for quality and a drive to ensure the lasting impression of the Cottage is that of satisfaction, joy and a eager desire to return, but I could not rave more about the food.The opportunity to try a range of flavours and combinations from produce that supports our local businesses is so exciting for me. Every dish on the menu was labelled and almost entirely made up of gluten free to gluten free available options, not mention having a range of dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options. I've dined here multiple times and it has never disappointed. Its popularity precedes it so take an opportunity to book a night for yourself, I promise you, it's worth it.

What an amazing find, beautiful food with friendly and professional staff. Such a cool funky modern feel Restuarant, it felt like I was in Adelaide! Love it and highly recommend the Spanish Chicken - be sure to make a booking these guys are so popular!

I love me a seasonal, local, rotating menu and this is exactly what The Cottage has to offer. The large reservation we had seemed to be easily accommodated by the staff, stunning service and we never felt lacking despite our number.The menu had so many delicious sounding choices to choose from, with a myriad of flavor combinations to try. An absolutely superb meal.

Went to the Cottage for Valentines Day Dinner. The service and food was excellent. Shane and his team made the experience wonderful, would not hesitate to go back again. 5 stars is an understatement.

We had a lovely evening at The Cottage . As a Coeliac I am always a little bit concerned eating out and more so when travelling . The Cottage was a recommendation from a fellow Coeliac who lives in Armidale and my family had such an enjoyable time. With a 6:30 booking it was already busy with a lovely ambiance. The food was delicious with so many gluten free options the only problem was deciding which one to try. Shane’s service was exceptional and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived . We thoroughly recommend The Cottage and will look forward to our next visit to Armidale .

From the time we entered the Cottage restaurant Shane, the owner, could not have been more attentive and helpful. It was more than just a wonderful dining experience, as we felt a genuine friendly atmosphere and great, warm service. The food was second to none and all in all, a credit to Shane and all his wonderful staff!Thanks Shane, from Wayne and Jen.

The initial waiter was really lovely, he greeted us and showed us to our table. Unfortunately the waiter allocated to our table mixed up our order multiple times and then eventually came out to advise the 3 of the meals ordered weren't available (about 1 hour 15 after we ordered). Service was very slow, our entrees came out about 45 minutes after they were ordered and then mains even longer after that. On a positive note, the steak was cooked perfectly.

Super and accommodating for Vegans.Wonderful atmosphere and excellent service.The cottage restaurant run by Shane is a must see and experience in armidale.Shane was incredibly attentive but not too much. His staff were skillful and polite.A last minute extra 7th seat wasn't a problem to add to our table, though the wait on mains was quite a while, we weren't left hungry or waiting and were frequently checked on.Either way, the food was amazing with hearty portions.My partner and I are vegan and even though there was only one listed vegan menu item, the chef was prepared to offer us a Mediterranean veg pasta aswell as our 3 stuffed vegetable" mains. 2 of the breads were vegan as is
