Really disappointing experience. I put an offer on a townhouse last Tuesday morning (just over a week ago) listed with Alex McCormack. I used the online process as I was in meetings and knew that I wouldnt be able to call until after lunch. I assumed Alex would ring me once it came through, but that wasn't the case. I instead had to ring him that afternoon and leave a message. He then called me back telling me that the owner had a few offers and would have a think overnight and that Alex would call me in the morning to touch base. Im still waiting for that call. Thursday afternoon, two and a half days after i put my offer in, i rang him on the phone and as per usual it went straight to voice mail. I left a msg expressing my disappointment as to the fact that he hadn't bothered to even check in with me. He didn't even bother to return that call either. It always makes me laugh at the short term memory of some agents when the real estate cycle is in a seller's market. It's like all professionalism and manners go out the door because they affectively don't have to try as hard. Then we go into a buyers market and you see a completely different side to them and all of a sudden they lift their game. The thing they fail to remember, is that customer service goes a long way. Especially in the real estate market. The ripple effect is very real and as an agent, you have no idea when and how clients could potentially pop back up in business. People remember long into the future how they were treated in business. Very disappointing.
