*****Katherine's review below is definitely for the wrong place. You can't see the waxing room from where you get your nails done and the room at this venue is definitely private. Quite poor of you to not correct your mistake Karen.Ive been going to these guys since 2020 or so and I've never had any issues or compalints with this venue. Staff are lovely and take their time with great attention to detail. Prices are reasonable and worth it.

From the moment I walked into this Salon I was so glad I did. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. The lady doing my nails took great care and patience to ensure I was going to be happy with my nails. And they actually organise their swatches by colour which makes picking your colour infinitely easier! (All the pinks are together, the reds together etc)

Always love going here. Don’t get rushed and they do a thorough job. Thank you for my SNS love the colours!

This place needs to be shut down. So horrible. The worst salon experience I've ever had. I would not wish this on anyone. I regularly get waxed every 5-6 weeks, and this has been BY FAR the worst place I've ever been.First off, the place is filthy. Really, really dirty. The lady waxing was so incredibly rough and painful, I now have bruising all down my thighs and bikini line. I didn't know that was even possible from waxing, have never experienced this! I also have a 2 inch long burn on my knee. Every 90 seconds, she would leave the room to re-heat the wax in the microwave outside, and everytime she opened the door I could see out to the main room where people were having their nails done, and they could definitely see into the room where I was completely undressed from waist down. Not given wipes before, or after. Wax residue left all over my legs, and huge patches of hair just completely missed.I'm such a regular waxer, I usually don't feel a thing when having my legs done, and only very very slight pain on my bikini, and usually it's really quick at other salons. But this was so so so painful, I don't understand how anyone would go back here!Also despite a full leg wax + Brazilian being $40 each in their brochure on main counter, I was charged $110!

Went here for the first time yesterday after hearing good things from a friend, so maybe my experience is a one off. The girl who did my nails seemed angry or like she was having a bad day which is totally fine in itself! But she was incredibly rough to my nails and I had to tell her she was hurting me a couple of times. When I did speak up she paused and seemed annoyed, and didn’t actually respond or look at me, and then continued what she was doing but a little softer. They were cut so far back a few are almost to the quick, and they’re actually sore today from her filing the skin and soft part under the nail (which led me to post a review); You can see the fleshy part of my finger sticking out past them because they’re so short. The paint itself is ok, nothing I would complain about, but it’s not great as there is paint and clear polish on the skin around the edges.

Dreadful experience. Change of owner and management has seen the service and quality of this place plummet drastically. I've been going for 7 years but yesterday was the last time. The pedicure was second rate as my heels feel and look like they did before the appointment. The manager did my Mani and I question if she is qualified. I asked her not to make then short, just even them out.She was so rough with the nails and the cuticles were in tatters. Then the manager answered a call on her phone and continued talking (not in English) on the phone doing my nails at the same time. And she was still filing my nails. I complained about the phone call and she gave me a lame excuse about talking to her accountant. I argued with her and she finally passed me onto another woman and she started filing again!I told her to stop and again the manager butted in saying I wanted to even them up. So 1.5 hours later I walked out with seriously shortt nails and saying good bye to my box 141 because I won't be returning.

The staff are very friendly and they did a great job with my Mani and so with my daughter's Mani and pedi. They were very tolerant and friendly to my two grandkids who were very playful. I will surely go back!

Hi Team,To clarify I did not receive a foot scrubbed (I had a quick heel scrub for a few seconds say maybe less than a minute) nor did I get a hot stone massage nor a hot towel on my feet. I appreciate that you now explain what service I received after the service was provided. You need to explain what patrons receive in each package prior to the service so we understand what may or may not be missing or what our experience will be. I explained in my review that I was unsure if staff were laughing at me or not, the simple fact that I was unsure should indicate to you and the team that they better make it clear what conversations they are having and with whom, so there is no doubt or confusion left for the customer to decide.I did try to start a conversation about my nails in terms of “im giving them a break” but the tech was simply to busy to have that conversation. Can I suggest that you give care cards out to your customers which clearly explain what do’s & dont’s for nail care and update your menu with more detail around your services, have them displayed around your shop. Perhaps some marketing material for the walls now that you appear to have a mini revamp of the premises.It seems to me the info is only forthcoming once a review or concern is raised. All areas of improvement.Thanks again for your reply although it was based in some misconceptions of what I actually received. Be gracious when you are given a review with reasonable issues, don’t make up falsehoods.I would also review what a medi or pedi is and how you can actually improve that service for your customers so it’s worth the money you are charging.RegardsLouise

I used to love coming to Golden Nails at Carlisle Street but since they have changed ownership and over last 6 years they have just lost the plot. The quality, service and care is not there anymore. Such a shame!
