Great campsite on the Cooper Creek. Some of the locals had a catering truck set up when we visited It was a great experience and dog friendly.

The 14km road in can be rough with large gravel, but its a worthy detour when you're already in the middle of no where. The Cooper creek is currently (Apr '23) full resulting in rewarding platform for a picnic while taking in some classic Aussie history. Plenty of glossy description boards to help enrich the historical significance of what otherwise feels like any other random spot on the Cooper.

Nice place to learn about Burke & Wills history but asking $20 for entry is daylight robbery. Should be gold coin donation for every adult then more people would pay.

Good place to reflect on how tough the people we’re back then. Camped by the river. Collect your firewood and settle in for a quiet night

Did this trip with 4 families and we had a blast continuing to cross the Simpson after visiting the tree and camping beside the awesome Copper Creek. This is both an iconic and must visit destination if you are heading towards outback QLD and incredible piece of Australia’s history the kids will just love. Plenty of private camping spots and wonderful bird life and things to do for the kids from bike riding to fishing (plenty of yellow belly). Have been three times and stayed a few nights each time - epic and a must do.

This historical site has been well preserved and presented. Plenty of good information in the hut as you enter the site for those looking for more details. Road in from highway is 14km and a bit rough but OK for off road car/van. Well worth the trip.

What a neat set up, definitely worth the dirt road in and the $20 conservation fee to see it. Very informative information boards set up all round. You can also camp there if you're self contained but I wouldn't take a caravan only full off roaders. I think it has toilets but no showers.Go the extra distances to see the graves of Burke and Wills and also the memorial for Kings Marker. Tastefully set up.

To get the true experience of the Dig Tree plan a summer trip to the Dig Tree, it's hot, dusty and a very lonely place to be but a great experience never the less, one I never forget just the best!

Fantastic preservation of an iconic Australian story. Great camping spaces, wide open and clean. Lots of bins, clean amenities and just awesome history.
