Maroubra Music School

To be transparent, I am not very musical or musically ambitious for my kid so I cannot really judge a music school. However I am happy to be guided by whether my son (5y) is having fun and that I can say for sure. He switched from a 1:1 drums class at another school where I could tell they took things pretty seriously and he did not feel comfortable. He now does the multi instrument (drums, piano, guitar) class at this school with Blake and he really enjoys going. Whether Blake's approach will make him play at the Sydney opera house at the age of 15 I don't know and frankly I don't care. As long as my son is having a good time exploring music that makes him want to come back.

Blake is an extremely caring and intelligent teacher who puts a great deal of care and passion into all his classes. He has a great wealth of knowledge which he shares in an articulate yet simple way that kids of all ages comprehend and appreciate. My son has learned an immense amount, far more than he did in previous one on one piano lessons.

We have been super happy with Maroubra Music School! The teaching methods have worked really well for my son (7yrs old) as they get to explore lots of different instruments and genres so he never gets bored. Rather than nagging him to practice I know catch him just playing and experimenting with different sounds for fun which is great to see. Highly recommend.

What a great creative outlet for my daughter. She loves going to every class and talks about her creations with us after her lessons. Her teacher Blake is great with the kids and definitely keeps it fun. I would definitely recommend Maroubra Music School to anyone with kids.

Through participating in classes at Maroubra Music School, my son has developed a huge love for music, with music very much part of his life now. Long gone are the days we need to remind him to practice.No doubt the tuition has also contributed to him receiving a place in the top three in his music class at school. While 2020 was challenging with COVID, Blake went above and beyond to ensure music could continue while maintaining highest standards.Blake, the way you connect with kids and your understanding of how kids learn music is remarkable. Thank you for the wonderful classes and the inspiration you have given Adam.

Maroubra Music is fantastic for young (and old) musicians at any level. Its not traditional" music learning. It's fun

We have been attaining this music school for well over a year now.My son loves it, he always surprises me with little songs or rhythm patterns he's working on, which I just love.It shows that he is engaged, learning and committed.I couldn't recommend the school more highly.Blake is highly organised and goes above and beyond with learning and home practice and class follow up keeping us informed!

Our son has been going to this music school for more than one year and he loves it!Blake is a very good teacher, professional and very keen to share his passion for the music with the kids in a fun environment. He is always teaching them new songs or rhythm patterns using different instruments which is not common for a music school. Now, our son is learning to play piano, guitare and likes singing! We highly recommend this music school.

Blake is encouraging and uses a diverse range of learning styles to help you excel. I am an adult learning piano at 30 years of age. Blake has used memory recognition patterns and other instruments like drums to improve my understanding, ability and confidence with music and piano. He is always uplifting, smiling and never discourages you. His understanding and excitement for music makes you want to learn more. And the kids absolutely adore him. I see them chatting to Blake between my class and there's and they are always so excited by the minimations or musical games they've just played. If I had a child, I'd definitely send them for lessons with Blake.
