Ken and I were very impressed with Doug's DPB, first class service andquality products, we felt confident at every step of the building process.

It was a new experience for me and one I thought would not be difficult to navigate. I was wrong. The contract provided by the company I signed isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. As the building is built off sight, it is not covered by the Building association and Doug Doneman uses his friend builders licence and although this is legal, his friend is the person he refers you to to organise the foundations. The building work is second rate and your local handyman could do a better job and would probably have more pride in their work. I was told six weeks to build, it took seven months to get it on my land, so many excuses and delays. Everything was done cheap. When delivered, 31 faults were identified, only 17 were rectified. Things like internal doors not closing or locking. Kitchen cabinets measured incorrectly and sitting on window frame. Tiles on bathroom floor at different levels and and distance between tiles in consistent. When he made a mistake I had to pay for it otherwise he would withhold something from the build, such as a hot water system. The toilet was installed over a metal beam, which had to be cut to accommodate a pipe. So many many things wrong, he builds them how he wants to and how it is going to make the most money. If there is two ways to do things, the cheapest way is always chosen. I was to have vinyl wrap kitchen cabinet but this changed because laminate was cheaper and the new company only did two pac or laminate. So regardless of what my contract said, if I wanted two pac I would be paying for it, not even the difference in price between vinyl wrap and two pac was considered, he stated that vinyl wrap was an inferior product and that he didn’t use the company any longer. Electrician companies were changed throughout my build based on finances.When I spoke to a solicitor and the building association, they said the industry is full of cowboys wanting to make a quick buck. Well he certainly make some money out of me.I would recommend you go elsewhere, this company is unethical and immoral.

If your Looking for a Portable Granny Flat or Cabin , I would recommend Direct Portable Buildings. Doug and his team, where so easy to attend to all my needs. Doug went beyond and above, anyone any one else, I have total faith in his expert Building Knowledge.

I can’t thank Doug and his team enough. What was potentially a very stressful situation was definitely made easier with Doug’s help along the way. The building is ideal for my parents who are now happily living in it. Thank you once again and I certainly would not hesitate to recommend this company.

It would be hard to find someone more committed to providing the customer with what they want than Doug Doneman of Direct Portable Buildings. No request seemed to phase him.We had planned to buy a container home but are very happy that we went with DPB with its extra width and superior quality. The building is located at Byron Bay. We need no heating or cooling; the insulation has been very effective.The transportation from the Sunshine Coast to our difficult hillside property worked without hitch. The minor superficial damage was dealt with by DPB.I highly recommend Doug’s DPB if you are looking for a quality prebuilt home.

Doug and the team built our home and we are very happy with the experience. Doug is very easy to communicate with and he and the team had no problem making any adjustments we wanted, including raising the ceiling. Our house came with flooring, bathroom and kitchen, air-cons, fans, and heaps more. I would like to say thank you to Dough and his team on a exceptional result on the build of our granny flat,we gave Dough a 3 month dead line, and from the start we were kept up to date with the progress of the build by photos and phone calls as each stage was completed,if any delays we were informed.The day of the delivery of the granny flat was well organised and ran very smoothly.
