The Oxford Hotel
The evening started off promising we were seated in a lovely section of the hotel with a fireplace which was welcome on such a cold night.Service was prompt at the beginning but varied greatly depending on which of the three servers came by.The starters were amazing. We had cheesy garlic bread, jalapeño balls, squid, sausage rolls and the plate with dip, cheese, chorizo and Turkish bread.Unfortunately that was the highlight of the night and if we had of left then everyone would have been happy.When the mains came everything looked ok but taste wise left a lot to be desired.Out of the table of 7 only 2 people were happy with their meal. The lamb shank and crab and prawn linguine were both hits. Everything else was a miss. It would seem the concept of flavour which was so prevalent in the starters didn’t translate to the mains.The pork belly salad while large didn’t have a lot of meat and what was in there was over cooked.The beef and Guiness pie was bland.The porterhouse steak was not seasoned at all and more raw than medium and still managed to be dry. The tiny portion of chips had probably never had the pleasure of meeting seasoning. When the server who looked like she’d rather be anywhere else but at work was requested to bring salt and pepper she never came back. Meaning the food went cold in the meantime when one of the helpful servers came past and managed to bring the requested salt and pepper back in less than a minute.The real disappointment was the chicken parmigiana. It’s a sad day when a pub can’t get a parmi right. The chips again were unseasoned. The chicken was cooked but that’s probably the only good thing about it. The crumb coating was soggy, there was hardly any sauce or cheese and the ham, oh the ham, was pizza diced ham which wasn’t even warm and unless that is cooked in someway tastes below average.Most of the mains were lukewarm at best and after finishing no one cleared the table until we were leaving. Needless to say we didn’t linger and went home disappointed.Tldr: Great for a drink and some small plates to share but do both your palate and your wallet a favour and don’t bother with the main menu.

This place can be really popular. Big screens for the sporting events and a solid pub grub menu with a touch of class available.A beautiful old building kept in great condition. Some great afternoons and evenings could be had here and the pint specials are appreciated

I am a huge fan of the Oxford Hotel! Held my birthday party 2 years back there with share food and the options were wonderful and the staff were amazing both to organise with and on the night.We then held my Mums surprise 70th dinner there a year later and everyone was very happy with their food (the lamb shanks were exceptional).Back again for a quiet birthday lunch this time on a Sunday and with a $16 parmigiana special I was blown away with the portion size, and it was delicious. Another friend had the vegetarian gnocci which looked and smelled amazing and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Portions were generous so most of my friends couldn't finish their meals. Atmosphere inside was great and staff were amazing, and still the same faces from 2 years ago.I just wish I lived closer so it wasn't just an annual visit, as it would be my favourite pub in Perth. Kudos to the staff, the chefs, the owners and management for creating such a lovely place to get together with friends.

From the moment that we stepped foot into the Oxford Hotel, we knew that it was the wedding venue of our dreams. (It was the second venue we viewed and we booked it the same day!)Rustic and quaint, vibrant and unique. It was everything that we wanted in a venue to celebrate our big day.Steph and the team at the Oxford went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and the food was absolutely divine! All of our guests were raving about the delicious menu.One of the things that we loved most about this venue is its central location and the ability to have the ceremony and reception all in one place. It really took the pressure off us, our guests and our vendors.Thank you for helping us bring our day to life! We look forward to visiting this treasured spot for many years to come.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, we always have an incredible meal there. Piazza is always a great choice. The steak and chips(special offer for Friday) are fantastic. Salad is always fresh. Lamb shank is also good. Burger and beer on Thursday are perfect.

We had a great night. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating to the young child in our party. The only thing was they had run out of Wild Turkey. But we will definitely go again. We all loved it.

Always good times at the Oxford! We been going to the Oxford for well over a decade, even before it was renovated, celebrating birthdays, catch-ups with friends and family or just popping in for a quick bite.Staff are friendly, prices are great and excellent family friendly pub atmosphere.Food is excellent with a great selection of traditional pub offerings and generous portion sizes.Can’t go wrong, Highly recommend!

Excellent value for money from this place, steak and beer special for $22. But steak was pretty touch and just one person behind the bar-felt very sorry for her, clearly busy trying to manage everything. Apart from that good atmosphere with different seating areas, will be back
