Most expensive banh mi pork roll I've ever had and it only had 3 small pieces of pork in it. Very disappointing really given the hype. Flavour is good, service is good, but please give a decent serve!!

Definitely one of the smallest and worst Banh Mi I have ever had. Am used too nice crispy pork ones with big crispy rolls and lots of filling from Melbourne shops. This was a half serve soft roll with a couple of bits of pork and some carrots and shallots while still paying full size price. Very disappointed.

Firstly it is advertised as a crispy pork banh mi, its not crispy at all and rather pulled pork that is dronded in hoisin sauce to hide the lack of flavour from the meat.Secondly, There is minimal pate/ butter coverage on a half serve roll which for the size of the roll wouldnt be hard to cover the whole thing in pate/butter, this leaves the complete roll tasting horrible and flavourlessThirdly instead of only offering pork or chicken banh mi, how about offer the original classic of an assorted range of cold style meats?Now lastly, some of the best banh mi shops in melbourne offer tiger sticks with pate and butter these imposters didnt even know what i was talking about when i mentioned this.

We live locally and love this place. She makes everything herself. From a freshly made salad and ham sandwich (perfectly seasoned with crispy and yummy salad) to dainty home made spring rolls and dim sims (best I've ever had). The rice paper rolls are seriously addictive. All the pies and sausage rolls are amazing, with their buttery flaky pastry. Even though the business is called the Bahn Mi Shop, it's actually the other food we absolutely love. Every time we try something new, it is a joy. (the rhubarb and apple slice we tried this week was superb). This place is a bit of a secret gem. The unassuming shop front and interior - with absolutely no concessions for trendy decor - mean that it's easy to miss unless you're in the know. It's a tiny, somewhat quirky place and almost a one-woman show - so you can wait a little while when it's busy - be patient and be kind.

Loved the fresh rice rolls for lunch. Sandwiches nice and fresh. Coffee was lovely; came back for a second one. Used fresh roasted beans. Short wait time. Friendly person behind the counter. Two doors from laundrette. Worth trying this place.
