Last year, we adopted our dog. The staff were helpful. They made sure we can meet her and see if we were right for each other. It was a long process to get her but she is the nicest little thing ever and she deserves it.Thanks!

I bought my 14-week-old kitten from the Animal Management Centre on Queens Road. I could tell that they had enough facilities for the cats (beds, food, litter boxes, etc). They also happened to be doing a special for 30% off. I was made aware that my kitten had cat flu. The lady who assisted us said that it would come and go and that they would bounce back. She was very kind and did the best she could (I believe) as she did try to get me antibiotics from the onsite vet - I did not get any. They instead gave my kitten an injection to help with the cat flu - this would last 3 days - I thought this was very promising for him. Additionally she mentioned that once I had completed the paperwork, if my kitten required any further care, I would have to seek out my own vet. After no more than 30 hours of having my kitten, I had to get him hospitalised because he was not eating, drinking, moving, or going to the litter box for possible lung infection, difficulties breathing, a congested chest, a temperature of 39.3 degrees, and weighing 1.3kg when he was listed to weigh 1.8kg 11 days before I got him. These are all symptoms that were on top of the typical cat flu symptoms (e.g., runny nose, lethargic, discharge from eyes, etc.). My kitten ended up in critical condition and had low chances of making it through the night in an oxygen cage and with IV drip. I believe that the staff did a very poor job in identifying his condition and his needs. I am not sure if he would have made it many more nights without the appropriate care. Whilst there are other animals to tend to, it does not justify letting a 14-week-old kitten with cat flu deteriorate to this state. Despite this, I am very glad that I was able to reach out to him and remove him from that environment, but it definitely did not come without a price.Would I recommend this centre? Despite my experience, the centre was filled with dogs (in every cage - last time I visited, there was only one dog) and cats (also filled to the brim) that all need better homes.

I adopted a lovely Tabby cat named Reginald a week ago and we are best buddies already. We had a couple issues like using my garden pots as his kitty litter tray but we have sorted that one out and the other was jumping up on the kitchen counter when food was bring prepared but we are also making great progress on that one. I paid $150 and that encluded everything , quite honestly you won't get a better deal than that and the staff were great. Please don't adopte any animal if it's about your needs only , these animals need you to take care of them for LIFE.

Was really surprised at how helpful the gentleman was at front counter Easter Saturday. I see and hear so many negative things about the pound at Kingston, so was really concerned when I thought my cat was in there. Couldn't find our Kitty for 24hrs, saw a Russian Blue looking Kitty on FB and thought it was our boy (Ours was in the laundry cupboard). Taken to the holding pens.. very clean, ample supply of food & water with staff in there checking the animals welfare. After confirming not our Kitty we went to check out the doggos for adoption. Some beautiful dogs there and even 1 Senior dog for FREE if held a Seniors Card. All I can say is the staff are trying to home lots of animals, please consider Pound Adoption""

Absolutely heartless money grabbing individuals that hold your pet to ransom and would rather put them down then give them back to there family. They don't offer payment plans so if you don't have the money stiff they would rather kill your family member and cause you unbelievable pain and emotional damage then give your pet back. hadv
