I have recently started learning BJJ with Mike. He has been extremely welcoming and created a fantastic learning environment where people are able to learn these skills without fear of failure or conflicting egos. Mike shows genuine care towards his students and tailors his approach to training towards the individual. Overall, I am very glad to have begun my journey with Mike/Rogue BJJ and would recommend them without hesitation to anybody looking to do the same.

I have trained with Mike from Rogue BJJ Studios on and off over a number of years. Mike’s instructional style is informed by vast technical knowledge and a keen eye for student needs. Mike teaches with an empathetic understanding of how people learn. A lot of BJJ gyms have a “Bro” culture that, if not tempered, can act as a gatekeeper for new students - you won’t find that at Rogue BJJ Studios. Mike builds a culture of respect, excellence, and understanding by structuring his teaching in a way that allows all participants to benefit.

Mike is extremely knowledgeable in both the combat and sports aspects of jiu jitsu.As an instructor, Mike has a practical approach and is able to cater to the individuals style. Learning BJJ literally changed my life. No longer worried about my physical safety as a single girl on dates, nor travelling solo around the world. Mike has a knack for tailoring his teaching to suit every body’s needs, whether you are tiny or huge, able bodied or needing support and modifications. Massive recommend to any veteran or emergency responder thinking of giving it a go.
