Captains Retreat Apartments & Cottages Williamstown

Very deceptive, they obviously have 2 different properties and where we stayed was not what we thought we had booked.We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and got a room" - it was a nice clean and tidy room but still a room - it did have its own small en-suite

Stayed here for a business trip. Possibly the best home away from home I have had in years. Melissa and Georgie were beyond accommodating and the place is exquisite. Beautiful garden and common areas and rooms were very cosy. I can’t wait to come back with my husband and share this little piece of heaven I found.

It's hard to top all the reviews on this site regarding The Captain's Retreat. Without doubt, it is the most enjoyable BnB experience we have experienced. Melissa, the Owner, is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Our room, Captain's Suite, was very spacious and beautifully appointed in old world charm furnishings. Bed super comfy. Shower excellent. We so appreciated the little extras that the Captain's Retreat offers, plus the location is superb. We were given plenty of dining recommendations and they didn't disappoint. What's not to enjoy here? We will be back when we are next in Melbourne. A truly great experience.

Highly recommend for looking for an incredible relaxing experience! Beautiful surroundings! Melissa, the lady in charge, is extremely accommodating and attentive to detail.Location 100%! Walk down to the foreshore for fish and chips! Or, walk along the street and choose from the many options and window shopping! You must try!

Amazing accommodation, fantastic location.

I stayed at the Garden View Apartment for three months. Fantastic location in the heart of Williamstown - walking distance to restaurants/bars, beach, shopping etc. The apartment has everything you need with that special Captains Retreat charm. The team obviously loves hosting guests and does an excellent job.

Lovely suite, sparklingly clean with fabulous huge bathroom and spa. Small things would improve a lovely stay. Could do with better coffee and milk options, especially as no breakfast currently, large water glasses and cold water..just put fridge in room

The Captains Retreat is a really cosy warm and romantic place to stay. Each room has a different character due to the fastidious attention to detail by the owner and host Melissa. She has created a real hideaway retreat right on the edge of Melbourne by the bay at Williamstown. We recently stayed in the Penthouse sharing with another couple, and that was just superb, it's huge and has amazing views of the bay. We simply crossed the road to have a great dinner at the Strand. Captains Retreat is superbly comfortable and quiet. My wife and I then stayed another night in one of the upstair single rooms and that was lovely as well. I cannot recommend Captains Retreat highly enough. Please go and enjoy this accommodation just as we have.

What an amazing hidden gem in Williamstown! Stayed for a few nights here and loved the apartment. The rooms & living spaces were spacious, airy, light filled & tastefully decorated. The location is really convenient and well positioned near the water - walking distance from some really great eateries, shops & cafes.Melissa & her team were friendly & helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This is one of the best locations and places to stay at Williamstown. Just doesn't get better. It looks heritage on the outside and ultra modern on the inside. Melissa, the host is a perfectionist and goes into extra detail to ensure the place is immaculate. The apartments are spacious and tastefully done. Clean and has all the amenities you need to relax. tons of restaurants and booze shops just 100ms from the location. This place is a dream getaway for the weekend or for a get together. The penthouse has 4 beds and baths, a massive en suite and a 180degree bedroom with a harbour view from pretty much any room. Got for it. You will not be disappointed.
