I visited Brooks & Stain for breakfast recently and was really chuffed with the food and service. The breakfast menu isn’t as extensive as some cafes but the meals are super tasty. I ordered the sweet potato and leek rosti which was packed full of flavour. The coffee was great and the lady who looked after us was wonderful - I couldn’t fault her service. She was attentive but also gave us enough time to review the menu and knew exactly when to approach us for our order.

Friendly Staff, nice vibe, we had the breakfast (Eggs Benedict and Bacon and Eggs with tomato jam) Absolutely amazing.I would highly recommend coming here to eat.

I’ve only lived in Wilston for 6 months. I generally go to the same cafe but today they were closed.I saw Brooks and Strain were Open.From the moment I walked the staff serving behind the counter were so lovely and welcoming particular Amy.I was just getting a takeaway coffee until I spotted their mouth watering home made cakes. Amy convinced me to try the bread and butter pudding. I’m so glad I did!! It was heaven on a plate topped With fresh cream.I’ll def be back, what an awesome cafe to find. It’s very clean too :)

Our food was delicious! We ordered different types of food, our mushroom arancini was perfect, delicious flavour and so yummy! Cakes and coffee were extraordinary good taste and gentle flavour, cakes were not too sweet and we really enjoyed it. The staff is so friendly and always with a warm smile and excellent customer services.

A friend and I headed out for lunch last week, and ended up at the local village. I chose here. We ate gnocchi with pumpkin and spinach (him) and beetroot-cured salmon gravalax with a poached egg and potato rosti for me. (And a glass of rosé.) Yep, I loved my lunch. Fantastic rosti (housemade), purply and tasty salmon, with a fresh rocket and pear salad. The egg was soft and runny, just how I like it. I felt healthy and happy, with a mouthful of different textures and flavours. Mr L. enjoyed his handrolled gnocchi, which were tender and fluffy. The next night, I was here again with hubby who also chose the gnocchi; he also loved the fluffy pasta, and its flavoursome accompaniments. I ate fish and chips – beer-battered barramundi with salad, aioli and fries. I thought that $32 was a tad expensive for fish and chips, even though I know barra isn’t cheap. It was cooked well, not oily, and the fries were deliciously soft outside, with crispy outsides. We also shared sweetcorn arancini (a bit bland) and fried cauli (tasty). All up, lovely, friendly service, a great atmosphere, fairly prompt service too considering they were jam-packed full that night with every table taken, and with several large groups!

Lovely varied menu, licenced with a selection of beers and wines, FANTASTIC hosts and a great place to sit for dinner on Thursday and Fridays. Bonus as they are dog friendly.Couldn't fault our evening
