Solar Light Whiz

Thank you for the support. My roof is very steep and I wanted the solar panel on the south side but pointing north. This required the team at solar whiz to come up with a modification that allowed more tilt to the unit. They came up with a good solution and worked with our installer to get it fitted. It did require a few phone calls from my part but they were very helpful each time.

Great product. Installed the 2100 model on an insulated Colorbond Monument Roof .Also had the adjustable thermostat and night transformer options as I was concerned about the dark roof retaining heat when the sun went down or on cloudy days and these are highly recommended. I put my own temperature sensor in the roof to see just how effective the Solar Whiz performs. Today the outside temp is 29c and the inside roof cavity temp is 33c.

The team provided plenty of options for underfloor ventilation and planned the installation to ensure everything went smoothly. The few issues that arose were dealt with promptly.

We recently had a sub-floor ventilation system installed in our home to combat a damp problem. So far, we are very pleased with our dealings with Mark from Solar Whiz. He was reliable and prompt when it came to returning phone calls, and arranging for job completion. Product works ok but no silver bullet. More noise than expected including an annoying period where there is not enough solar to make the fan turn properly - so it squeaks and hisses until there is enough sun to power it. The Diffuser I got was broken in the box (it had 'wings' to close it in winter I assume), it was cheap and flimsy. But it took me so long to renovate the roof I did not find out until 6 months later when I installed. When I looked online I could have bought that piece for <$50 and was charged $80+. Fundamental problem comes down to why solar - even on my solar/off grid house. It is easier to install (no sparky), but stops even in heavy cloud cover (can be hot and cloudy), and does not help clear the heat when the sun goes down. They have mains options but why have both when watts would be low. Solar ends up quite expensive. On the flip side the company was proactive and helpful.

We had our Solar Whiz installed in November 2014, we had 2 internal, 2 external vents and a thermostat fitted with the main unit. Installation was very easy and took no time at all. Since the installation our house seems cooler in the mornings and we don't tend to use our airconditioner till later in the day, compared to before we had the Solar Whiz. I was concerned about the noise of the fan, but have found it to be just a hum, that I don't notice unless I'm listening for it. I'm happy we got the Solar Whiz installed, only thing we will probably do in the future is have the night kit added so the fan can keep removing heat overnight.

Having built an indoor pool which proved a little dark in places we decided to install 2 Solar Light Whiz as a bit of an experiment - what a difference! and what a great result! More than pleased with my dealings with the Company and their product exceeded all expectations - absolutely no hesitation in recommending the company and the product.

Instead of getting an expensive skylight installed, the guys here gave me a great affordable and efficient solution to lighting up our cafe. Was quick and easy to install. Works just as good, if not better then a real skylight! Highly recommended.
