This management crew are a joke. Unable to achieve the most simply of things. They are more than happy to take administration fee then lie to your face. Tell you what you want to hear then carry on their unprofessional behaviour. Typical of strata managers in Canberra. Avoid at all costs!

Be careful if you are considering buying a property managed by these people. Their strata minutes in contracts are always minimal and short, and perhaps deliberately leaves the key financial details out. It is impossible to request a strata inspection with them even with the extensive help of a fantastic solicitor. And the receptionist was always very rude on the phone. The fact that a property is managed by city strata now serves as a red flag for me now.

The woman at the front counter is so incredibly rude and patronising, speaking to me with quote fingers repeating back parts of what I’ve said, when she knew what I was after as a coworker said why I was there. Emails were sent regarding why I was there, and I had to tell them earlier that day I was arriving. I was spoken to as if this had never been any correspondence. Everything was on the screen in front of her. Hope I never have to deal with this mole again.

We've been with Ash from City Strata for over a year and can only say good things about his expertise in the area of strata management. Keith, Ash and City Strata generally have been the epitome of high quality management within their own organization and also in terms of their understanding and execution of the requirements of strata management legislation.It's a pleasure to work with Ash and a strata management group who take their job seriously and who want to see owners corporations working as optimally as possible. Thanks for your excellent service.I note that the negative reviews listed here likely come from unit owners who have been asked to do what is required and under the obligations of strata laws. A good manager isn't there to make friends, they are employed to ensure that management is conducted as professionally as possible.. sometimes more difficult unit owners get upset as a result and they feel obliged to write nasty things online.

They are very slow in getting building issues fixed. We have waited over a year for a leak in our apartment to be fixed. Wouldn't want them to manage a property I owned.

Hi Darren I am extremely sorry you feel this way and have felt strongly enough to criticise City Strata this way. No we are not criminals Darren. If we were, we would be out of business by now.We have a strong following in Canberra for our ethical approach to strata management. We are obliged to take instructions from our Owners Corporations in setting levies and sinking fund amounts. Each building complex varies in this matter. We just take instructions. In all cases with owners, it is illegal to stop paying levies if they are not happy about something at the complex.The 10% interest goes to the Owners Corporation, the $44 goes to us for doing the work. It is written into our contract that we can charge this. It is also our responsibility to collect levies and arrears on behalf of the OC and if we don’t we are in breach of our contract. In most cases, Owners know their responsibilities and financial commitments to the building complex. Unfortunately, for many varied reasons, a small few owners fall behind in their payments. We then have to take action as follows:Re: Debt recoveryUnfortunately, the Unit Titles Management Act determines that there are several steps that occur prior to a debt going to a collection agency.• This involves an arrears notice being issued, generally 6 weeks after the initial due date.• This then allows for the mandatory 28 days for a payment to arrive before it is deemed as being overdue, including an additional 2 weeks.• Then, if payment is not made, 2 further arrears notices are issued on the following months, with the third increasing in cost to $75.• If these all fail a final demand notice is sent.• Once these options are exhausted we contact the owner by whatever means we have available, to let them know they need to arrange immediate payment or the debt will be passed on to the collection agency.I hope this helps in understanding our position. there is a leaking in the apartment. they can't find out how to access to the top and repair the leaking. we can't open the lights even at night when it rains. it took 3 weeks and there is still no updated. unbelievable

I agree with previous 1 star comments. I have had a very similar experience and when I contacted city Strata I have been treated with patronising approach by Mika who told me I should allow my agent to manage my finances as obviously I am not doing a good job.
