My wife, two boys, and two of their friends and I had a great night. The meats and salads were excellent and plentiful. Very pleasently surprised at the quality of the food and service, as well as the price - especially with a very nice bottle of red. Townsville locals need to support our F&B outlets right now - ones just like Chico Rio.

So, first off, our drinks went to table two instead of four.My mother in law ordered a seafood dish and she gets veg and the waitress is saying that is seafood then comes out two min later saying no I realise now that it's not so she changed to a fattey meat meal even though she didn't want to much fat then the a wait her refused to give her pumkin saying that she not aload any food. Overall, I am very unhappy l. Place was dirty and my Tongs and fork were covered in food and so was my boyfriend's Tongs disgusting. Will never be back.

Great place on Flinders Street. It has a great atmosphere. We had the churassco experience. All the dishes brought around to the table till we couldn't eat anymore. Staff were super friendly and all had a great attitude and easy to converse with and helpful. Meal was delightful with the cinnamon pineapple super delicious. Chico Rio was my favourite dinner out in Townsville. Recommended.

All staff were amazing. Food was constant and a good variety. The whole experience had improved on my visit many years previous. I'm a small eater tho so don't feel like I get my $45 worth but it's nice to try a little bit of everything. Food was decent quality. I would like a desert choice. The cinnamon sugar pineapple is delicious.

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience here. I'd never tried this cuisine before and I must say I loved it. They bring out soo many different meats for you to try that is very easy to indulge. My favourite was the garlic steak and cinnamon pineapple was truly delicious. Also the non-alcoholic mango magic was amazing.The staff were very friendly, the system of ordering was explained to us and all our questions were answered.I highly recommend this restaurant.When can I go back?

Our first visit to Chico Rio and we had the full buffet, as a belated joint birthday dinner. Manbeast has declared it his new favourite place! Super friendly and attentive servers, and a great variety of BBQ and side dishes. We started early, at 6pm, so we're able to get into the groove of things before it got busy, and use of the meat traffic light stick thingamabob to slow down the offerings is a must. Also don't be shy, you can take more than 1 piece from the skewer, or ask for one dish specifically to be brought to you. Favourites were the super juicy pineapple, garlic beef and bacon wrapped chicken. Manbeast was also a fan of the bbq pork, and the black bean and bacon, and potato salad side dishes. The Brazilian blueberry soda was delicious, and we already have our eyes on the cocktail menu for our next visit. There was a slight snafu with my 2nd garlic bread side not coming out, but the Manbeast happily received another bowl of beans instead, and it turns out I was already too full and wouldn't have done the super crunchy garlic bread any justice. I wasn't put out, as I could have just asked for it again. Only minor cons, but will still mention them for sale of completeness. The crockery was a bit worn (buffet battle scars), and the knife in the table cutlery was blunter than a butter knife. Table was a bit wobbly. A couple of pieces of meat were dry, closer to the centre of the skewer, and a couple of pieces I lucked into a fatty/gristle lump. I just left them on the side of my plate and moved on to the next meaty offering.

Go for the Churassco experience !Very tasty with plenty of food and a really nice variety of dishes.The restaurant was almost empty when we came so it could be different when crowded but we got a lot of choices, never waited to get proposed a new meat and the staff was nice.
