Coming from a current student (film & tv), I'd say that what they're offering here at TAFE is worth your money if you see it all as the foundation and platform of your future - mind you, I'm solely referring to diploma courses; bachelor courses, I've not a clue.If you're coming with the expectation of getting the same from all the major universities (world class facilities and whatnot), it's going to leave you disappointed so do your research well so you don't end up paying thousands for nothing. However, if you want to have the skills needed for whatever you're doing, you're not the one to agonise over theory and you have the initiative to learn and create/pounce upon opportunities, then this is the place.Sure you'd get the not so great teachers, but at the same time you'll find awesome teachers too and great friends. As for the facilities and equipment, they may not the best - in fact, some of it all are either long overdue for a maintenance repair or needing to be replaced - however, you'll end up finding out that's it's not as bad or that different to what's out there in the real world. Like I said, they will teach you the skills but it's really up to you to make the most of it - don't sit there and complain or just exist.Though, this campus in particular is awfully quiet - if you can, go to South Bank for the fun and entertainment (or bring a car here so you can get something cheaper than the overpriced food and drinks they have at the cafe - seriously not that great on the student budget).

Went for a visit to see friend teaching here. Good space with plenty of trees and open spaces. Student car parking very handy to school. Classrooms modern. Place had a calm feel.

Nice spacious campus with a wide variety of courses and friendly and helpful staff. There are several refurbished areas around the campus and other areas that have remained unaltered since the campus was built in the late 70s. Has a great film and television course with experienced lecturers

I am writing this review because the other review's gave me an indication of what i was in for when i signed up to the diploma of screen and media, i am now in my 14th week of the course. There really are only two downsides i have found so far, #1- a lot of the equipment is old and out dated but it still does the job. #2 - there are not many people at this campus, it isn't a stretch to call it a ghost town some days. I have made a lot of friend's in my class though and the teachers are AMAZING, for real both my teachers so far are so much fun to be around and i am learning a lot from them. If you want to start learning about film then although it's quiet and the gear is a little old then this really isn't a bad place to do it. i do hear that some gear is getting upgraded for the start of next year though...so we'll see what happen's i guess :)

They need to be wise with who they hire as lectures/trainers. A lot of them eventually throw you in the deep end and don’t want to give you support at all. They have a horrible fashion designing teacher (Sally Brindley-Mills) who isn’t nice to the students and no matter how many of us complain about her they won’t do anything about it. I find the teachers play favourites with the students and they provide some needs to some students when the others miss out.In regards of disability support you don’t get much unless you’re blind or deaf and that is discriminating. I’m planning to finish my fashion designing studies at a new institute all cause of their lack of duty of care and how they have affected my mental health and were not considerate about my lower back arthritis. Nobody acknowledges my disability and special needs and all these guys care about is money. This place is far from being supportive and I left on bad terms due to the lack of support and the lack of duty of care with my arthritis and other health issues. They discriminate you for having days off when unwell too.

Online study through TAFE Queensland is the worst study experience I have ever had. Constant changing of teachers, LOADS of incorrect and/or missing information in the online content, marking of assessments not completed for weeks afterwards (even after submitting the next assessments due), emails being sent to me telling me that the unit is closing and my final assessment is now overdue (which is incorrect), have been directed to discuss topics with other students online however the online chat system does not work, etc etc etc.I have contacted TAFE numerous times about these and many other issues, however no improvements have been made whatsoever.Studying Project Management Cert IV. Would NOT recommend to anyone, ever.
