Glendon Camping Grounds

Great spot for camping and fossicking.Lovely and knowledgeable people (new management since late 2020). Simple but quality cabins, each with its own firepit and concrete patio. Multiple showers and toilets. All amenities clean. Dog friendly. Very family friendly. Access is via unsealed graded road (compacted dirt), but my low slung hatchback can reach and get around the camp grounds without any issues. A 4WD with clearance is required for anything beyond that. Optus coverage is negligible, but available 1km down the highway. I hear Telstra has very good coverage.EDIT 02/2023: I still frequent this campsite for the amenities and gold prospecting. Telstra reception is available across the whole property. There is now a mini farm with ponies, pigs, goats, guinea pigs, and fowl. The big dam is full year-round.

Biggest mistake Glendon have done getting rid of their managers Emma & Richie. They have spent so much of their own money & worked almost 24hrs a day to keep this place going. The owners & Goldie spend no money on repairs, the toilet blocks are falling apart & to top it off they are getting rid of animal farm. Kids will be deverstated! The owners & Goldie need to spend money on this place instead of using their managers. They go through too much staff. Prior to these managers they had no idea how to run the park. It will sure go down hill. Don’t waste your time or money going there after July! What a joke

Fantastic weekend at Glendon Camping Grounds despite some heavy rain. Cabins and amenities were clean and well maintained. Staff were lovely and very informative for us first timers. Motorbike trails are a good mix of rocky hills and flatter terrain. Spent 2 days riding and still didn’t find the end of the park. Lots more to explore for next time.

WE LOVE GLENDON CAMPING GROUNDSWe are a dirtbiking family. As we enjoy more enduro/trail riding than mx tracks we love the family feel of Glendon. If we wanted MX we would stop at one of the other parks on our way out to Glendon. Emma & Richie are always happy and helpful and they have set the grounds up with families and kids in mind. They monitor all riders and pull anyone up who is not following the rules which is very comforting having younger riders in our group. Our daughter absolutely loves visiting the animal farm after a morning ride to have some one on one snuggle time with the guinea pigs of which she knows all by name. The facilities provided are always clean and tidy, even on big weekends with 700+ riders they are on top of it all the time. Our puppies love the large grassed camping areas and its nice to get up early before the bikes start and walk them down to the dam. When it's time to go home no one in our large group wants to leave.Thanks guys - keep up the awesome work

Loved our most recent visit. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Animal farm great. 4WD tracks are good and scenery is amazing. Yes motorbikes are loud during the day but they ride the trails and stop at 5pm. Great fire set up. We used cabins and only advice is bring the heater in winter as even the cabins get cold. Toilets and showers clean. Roads from Brisbane to Here were pretty good but one lane from Ipswich. Dirt road in but firm. Standard vehicles can access but not the fossiking area you will need 4WD for that.

Absolutely amazing camp grounds! Would recommend to anyone who Is into 4x4, camping and gold panning.

Lovely helpful staff, we only visited for the day to do some gold panning. Didn’t find any gold but lots of quartz! Story of my life. Stunning property, we only saw a fraction due to not having a 4WD, we parked and walked on foot down to the panning site close to the campground which was a very short walk. Make sure you have a gold fossickers license, under $10 online (lasts a month) and it’s $25 for two persons to have access to the property.

The most amazing hosts at Glendon Camping. Thankyou for a wonderful experience for myself, my friend and all our kids. Your patience, understanding and flexibility was greatly appreciated. The kids rode bicycles and dirtbikes, loved it all, ESPECIALLY the animal nursery and jumping castle... this was the cherry on top for the kids. Will definitely return soon!!

Great campground! With clean toilets, warm showers and spacious campsites. We enjoyed gold fossicking, some light four wheel driving, a small campfire and visiting the farm animals.It was too windy for the kids to have a go on the jumping castle, but I can imagine they would have loved this if it was possible.The owners are professional, and keen to run the property well to ensure all campers enjoy themselves.This place is also popular with motorcycle riders with loads of trails for them, and four wheel drivers to enjoy throughout the property.We didnt come with motorbikes, and were advised where to setup if we wanted a quieter spot. This spot was excellent, and we didnt find the bikes an annoyance at all. The campground does have strict rules around the motorbikes in the campground, they cant go faster than walking pace.Definitely plan on coming back.
