Rob took on a challenge when undertaking the extension to our existing small, poorly thought out deck shortly after buying the property. Not only were the existing details shoddy and in need of fixing, the whole deck is 3 m off the ground. His architectural background meant an attention to detail was guaranteed, and sure enough, the previous shoddy finishing work was made good and the new extended deck was expertly built with care and diligence.In addition, Rob’s full service offering in producing the necessary plans for the Building Permit, organising and liaising with the inspector, and his organising of sub-contractors, such as the roofers, sets him apart from many other deck builders we talked with who all seem to want you to engage someone else to do the plans and permits for them to build to. All that seems very clinical, whereas Rob’s personal touch, ability to accommodate our needs and to solve issues as he goes makes him, in our view, the only deck guy to call ever!The finished product is excellent and we love it. Very happy with Rob's workmanship and attention to detail in designing and constructing our large verandah with a high pitched roof. Roof plumber was excellent. Rob built a 57 square metre deck for me about 18 months ago. It is a fairly low deck built on three levels. Rob was the only person who quoted (out of 5 quotes) that was able to build exactly what I wanted. Rob did all the planning for me & obtained all the council approvals, & had all the inspections arranged for the council. Made my life very easy.The deck he built from merbou timber was expertly done and looks beautiful. The way Rob made the deck fit into the garden beneath a very large oak tree was great. Once completed it looked as if it had been part of the garden forever.Rob's workmanship & attention to detail was of the highest calibre, & the deck met all my expectations & more. Since the deck was built the family have used the deck area more than we had ever used the same area before. Many guests have commented on what a beautiful deck it is, & as a result we have been more than happy to recommend Rob & Outside Structures to them.Rob is a true professional, & delivered my deck on time & on budget despite a couple of quite tricky problems he encountered during the build. Rob was very prompt in measuring and providing quote. Once signed on he kept me up-to-date on the plans, timber and timelines. Being able to apply for and process permit was a plus. The build did take a long time with half days in attendance but quality and finish were good.

Rob was able to bring his profession as an architect to 1st design a simple solution for the difficult site that we have and then to 2nd execute the design extremely well , I would recommend him to others and have him back for other projects
