Maylands Historical SocietyThe old Maylands police station.In 1906, mountedpolice officer, Constable William Ullman, was appointed to Maylands and at first operated from a rental premises in Maylands, in April 1908 tenders were first offered for the construction of the original Maylands Police Station and Quarters, years earlier; in fact soonafter the initial approach for a permanent officer was made to the Commissionerof Police in 1904, Lot 154 Guildford Road was purchased for £135 for the purpose of building apolice station for the area. The tender for the new station was awarded in May1908 and the building was built at a cost of £962
