Had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and it was small so made it quicker to get around as opposed to the national galleries.Enjoyed the diverse range of art. From the Nolan collection (more of this at the National Gallery if you like it), to jewelry, and unique glass sculptures and modern works from Lindy Lee.

Low profile but usually good quality exhibitions. Permanent exhibition of how the people and culture of Canberra has developed. One of the most striking exhibits is a dishwasher destroyed in a bushfire that also destroyed a suburb.

I loved the diversity of the exhibitions and the welcoming staff. This is a lovely venue with comfortable spaces that give you the space to take in the exhibits. A weekday visit is a good way to avoid crowds so you can take the time to appreciate everything that's on offer.

I don't really understand the high reviews on this museum. I can't complain too much, as it's free, but there wasn't much here. Consisted of three small galeries. One on a brief history of Canberra, Sydney Nolan, and one series of portraitsI would have loved for the section on the history of Canberra to be more extensive. I'd love to know more about the history of Canberra, how it was planned and design, and what it's growth has been like. Sadly there really wasn't much here with one small gallery only.Go because it's free, but don't allocate more than an hour

Worth a visit and good for something free. It will take about 30minutes to see and read everything if it’s 5 galleries

Wonderful Museum right in Civic. Excellent collection of Sydney Nolan paintings permanently here. Other exhibitions are wonderful too, seems small at first but it's about quality not quantity meaning there's actually more to see. Came out of there today, genuinely affected as the exhibitions on offer were really intense, but it made for such a wonderful experience that actually moves you. This place deserves a lot more credit. Don't ever change CMAG you're doing an amazing job! Even the toilets and parking is great!

Walking distance from Canberra centre, easy stroll from civic centre. 4 small exhibitions about the history of the establishment of Canberra. My favorite? Platypus exhibition, small not very informative but, learnt about platypus preservation at Coombs Peninsula. Worth a visit. Coffee shop & free Wi-Fi available.

That's a small museum but nice and they have a little cafetarian inside. Sydney Nolan has Inferno" there and he's really well-known in Aussie."
