Good to have a driver reviver there now, but it has greatly reduced the available camp spots for travellers, the pub has lost its country charm appeal it used to have. Keep driving

Amenities too small (only one cubicle each for male and female) and tired for the amount of traffic through the area, especially if staying overnight. Pub/motel is closed and up for sale, so no food and drink options. The price is right, but given proximity to Rockhampton would give a miss.

Heads up..Just a rest area.. Pub has been shut for 2 years. Free coffee, out of order. Has toilet. Servo across the road has fried bain-marie food only

Basic toilets but clean. Picnic tables, plenty of shade but a bit dirty, take a cloth to spread on the tables. Shady parking. Water is non-potable.

Excellent night stop. Surprisingly quiet at around 9pm onwards. Slept comfortably. Lots of space available. Fills quite fast so don’t get there too late. We arrived at around 4 and managed to squeeze our camper van in.Caravan trailers might want to arrive sooner.

A bit noisy from the constant road traffic but quite a pleasant spot to stop. Pictures are of the sunrise. A cold 11°C at the moment.

Yaamba Rest Area
We stayed for an overnight in July. Coincided with the lawnmower championships across the road. Toilets are ok, we had a meal at the pub a couple of drinks then bed. Highway noise didn’t bother us and we’ve marked it as a favourite.
