Best Dumplings i had in Australia. Everything handmade. So delicious.

We were delighted to find a cafe in Ardrossan that served fresh hand made Chinese dumplings. Mae is a delightful person and had instant rapport with my wife (Mandarin speaking Taiwanese) - they swapped life stories in Mandarin over Mae's very tasty dumplings. Great customer service from Mae and her husband who made a great coffee. He is the artist behind all the exotic signs that can be purchased in the cafe - fishing, marriage, pets and football themes amongst many others.

Really tasty food, excellent service and a fantastic selection of souvenirs! We were a group of four adults with one infant. It's a quaint little restaurant and has a good selection of orientation dishes, quite a bit of vegetarian options. They also have a high chair for kids and serve some excellent coffee. We enjoyed vegetable fried rice, vegetable noodles, dumplings with steamed rice with home made iced coffee and cappuccino. Loved it!

Friendly service and everything is cooked fresh. Unfortunately no vegetarian dumplings when I visited so the only vego options were fried rice or fried noodles. I opted for the noodles which were well cooked, but bland and were 95% noodles with only a tiny amount of carrots, spouts and cabbage. I would call ahead to see if they have the vego dumplings before going again.

Took a photo of some people googling the place. One laughed at the other and said you look like a tourist so thought I'd take a photo of them looking like tourists googling a shop. 5 stars.

These dumplings hand made by Mei are some of the best I've had. The Chinese chive haven't yet made it to the black board menu but ask for them.A very surprising find.Highly recommended!

Had great tasting slow cooked pork belly on fried rice, a little greasy but tasty as hell, asked for some Chili oil and that kicked it up a notch. If your in town pop in, not many vego options but willl what they can do for you

Stopped here for a mid afternoon snack (which turned into dinner because it was sooo delicious!). We are from Queensland travelling full time in a Caravan and honestly have never had food like this! Mei had the best hospitality and the kids just loved it. A must stop!

Such a beautiful and gorgeous interior! Amazing food and awesome customer service - I really appreciate the time and effort that went into the food preparation of the chilli oil too... I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised... I really like chilli and I found it to be really, really good and it wasn't even charged for! The food I ordered was priced rather well which was really good. Over all of ardrossan, this is the best place to eat 100% will be back. The sauces were all really good and everything was cooked really well... only th i ng I would say is perhaps crisp up the pork belly skin next time but thats a bit of a personal preference. The fried rice I had was really nice and not lacking in anything. I really cannot fault Maes Kitchen Cafe in any way. It doesn't have any EFTPOS on site but there's a atm if you need to take out cash and a sign at Maes that helps with directions. I already had cash as a lot of country towns don't have EFTPOS in my experience.
