We needed a window replacing and I phoned Canterbury Windows. We were given the number of an installer they use to contact to organise the measurements for us. Apparently this is how things are done at Canterbury Windows. This installer failed to contact our tenant, and when we called Canterbury Windows they had nothing to offer in terms of assistance. By coincidence (I think not) this installer called us the following day and was shady about whether he left a message with our tenant. Then he actually admitted in the same conversation that because he wasn't sure if we were going to go ahead with the job he didn't want to attend the property to do the measurements. Professional and slightly stupid. Now, because he was sure we were going ahead with the job he would nip up there to confirm the measurements my daughter who is an architect ended up doing for us (who I paid). So, basically two people would now be taking the measurements.. We sent the pdf file my daughter had prepared to Canterbury Windows, and yes they did complete the quote in a timely manner. However, they let us know we had to find our own installer. I told them about my disappointment with their original guy, and was told they'd send a list of other names we could try in a follow up email. I never got that so I was left with no other option but to contact Mr Reliable again, as he said he was keen to now go ahead with the job, and guess what.. he ghosted us again! Again, no help from Canterbury Windows, as its OUR JOB to find our own installer. I guess my main issue is with their process, it's definitely flawed. How the heck does anyone get anything done?

Double glazed panes in bi fold door failed after less than 8 years, when they were supposed to have a much longer lifespan. 7 of 10 independent panes failed, which only makes sense if there was an issue with a manufacturing batch. Or if the product is of low quality.Update after response on 23/02/2023:There have been communication issues between us on at least 3 occasions: two phone calls and this review. Not sure if intentional on your end but let’s assume not. This is not a discussion around warranty eligibility, since you only offer a 1 year warranty for double glazed panes anyway. Therefore, there is no point in telling me that I’m not eligible for a warranty claim because I’m not the original purchaser. Or to suggest that they were purchased 9-10 years ago instead of less than 8 years as I described and shared documentation about via email. The original owner would not be covered. Even if it had happened 13 months after purchase. In my opinion, such response make you look even worse.Anyway, the point that I always wanted to get across is the following:Double glazed panes are supposed to last anywhere from 15 to 30 years.Had one or even two panes failed in less than 8 years, it would be bad luck on my end but acceptable, given the variability of any manufacturing process. But that’s not the case. 70% of your panes failed, and any reasonable person would agree that cannot be attributed to chance.A measure of good faith would be: let’s investigate what happened and try to come up with a solution that would be good for both parties. But instead, you gave me the details of a third party that doesn’t have anything to do with the matter at hand.

For my purchase of 7 aluminium windows The manufacturing quality of the aluminium windows was discussing the random screw holes, scratches and damaged aluminium dinted or bend, they forgot to install fly screens tracks and the Fly screens supply with damaged meshThe after sale customer service was horrible to deal with very poor communicationNever gave me updates on repairs,Repair service men came to site 3 time to and still didn’t bring the correct replace parts and wanted to come back to a four time.Instead of replacing the damaged aluminium they used quick fix putting or a hammer on the brand new windows I purchased. They did such poor job on repairs then gave me the customer the filler and touch up paint to to complete it.Will never use canterbury windows again nor will I recommend them to any of my builders or clients

I had a window fogging up shortly after the house was finished in 2016. I didn't worry about it as it was only one but in the last 6 years they are failing one by one. Very dissapointed and annoying. Thousands of dollars down the tube. What are the chances of them failing after they are replaced?

We completed a second story renovation earlier this year and Canterbury windows supplied and installed all new windows and external sliding doors for the build. We are thrilled with the result and functionality and the team there are great to work with, made everything so easy. Very happy and highly recommend :)

We recently renovated our home, updating all existing windows and adding additional. We’ve had numerous issues with Canterbury, which I will list out below – and still not resolved.- Windows were damaged – scratched and broken on delivery- Rope for our double hung windows has snapped on multiple occasions- Windows have not been hung straight and required correction- Our bi-fold door does not align properlyMy wife and builder has made at least 30+ calls to this company over the duration of this year, begging them to come out to address the problems we STILL have.Their Victorian Sales Manager (Chris T) said, 'we will come out when we can find the time' – but clearly we are low priority as ‘finding time’ is vague and does not provide a path to resolution.I would be very wary about using this company as their product quality and after sales service is incredibly poor.Disappointing that the only way we feel we can get a suitable outcome is by posting a public review.

Terrible quality. Very costly mistake using Canterbury Windows. 7 years after installing: 3 out of 16 windows panes seals have gone and the internal glass has gone grey. They might look great at first but before long they are terrible.

If you’re thinking of putting your extension in the Hands of Canterbury Windows & Doors you should think again. We built our extension 8 years ago and had issues from the start. We had to have multiple windows reglazed because they were leaking due to poor craftsmanship. It was explained to me that quality control on that line of windows must have just had a bad day. That didn’t fill me with confidence but as the windows were already installed I really had no choice. After about 4 years we started to notice that some of the windows were beginning to turn grey. Since then they have progressively gotten worse to what you see here in the photos. This has occurred on 12 panes of glass out of 42 we had supplied by Canterbury for our renovation. I’ve contacted them to address the issue and was advised that it’s simply cosmetic and doesn’t really affect the heat/cool retention of the window, and that they were sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I was also advised that this usually only happens in the morning or late afternoon. To be very clear these windows look like this all day and all night no matter what season we are in. To have a guaranteed lifespan of just 12 months is alarming and something any buyer should consider. I can’t imagine somebody building a glass high rise would expect to have to replace all of the glass every 12 months. If you are buying from Canterbury you should expect to have to replace 33.3% of your glass panes in the next few years. That number has been growing over time to I assume it will continue to increase. Buyer beware.

We purchased our windows and back sliding door, for an extension we are doing, and we were very happy with the service provided. David was very professional, very helpful and very knowledgable. He spent a lot of time assisting us find the correct windows/doors, and answered ll our queries. When the products were delivered, there was a small scratch on the glass of the sliding door, but that was replaced v promtly. If you do go to the show room, ask for David, 5 stars to him.

Definitely not recommended! These guys have made 4 or 5 attempts, over many months, to adjust and fix a door that was poor quality from the start (and is still not quite right)! In the process, they have damaged other parts of the door and yet apparently it is on me, the consumer to re-patch and fully re-paint, despite them creating the damage!I'm typically not one to leave bad reviews, however after chasing these guys for answers for months and for Matthew to return a call to discuss and offer a solution, clearly they do not care, hence the reason for leaving this review. Buyer beware!5/5/23- 3 months since posting this review and Canterbury Windows responding saying they will look into the issue and be touch, I haven't heard a thing! So much for actually caring and doing what they say they will do!
