To see a whale out at sea was always a bucket list thing for me. I have tried several times over the years with no luck. We booked online with Sun reef in Mooloolaba because they guarantee a sighting or you can go again for free. The tickets were very reasonable $75 Adult for a 2 1/2 - 3 hour cruise. The boat Whale One was spacious two levels and had a bar, toilets and great viewing points also lots of comfortable seating. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable they were so passionate about the environment and all the sea creatures and shared that with all onboard. We unfortunately or fortunately had to do a second cruise as we were very unlucky that the whales didn’t come out on out first trip. They are very generous with their complimentary vouchers for another try on Whale One as the vouchers are valid for 10 years. We booked online again only 2 days later, an easy process using the code on the voucher at checkout. This time the lovely Captain Jack was at the wheel it did get a bit choppy out on the water and you had to hold on so may not always suit sea sick people. Not long out he got word there was a pod of whales and headed in that direction. Shorty we saw a pod of 4 whales and they put on a magnificent show for us. For over an hour they swam around the boat coming up to the surface making whale sounds and thrilling all passengers and crew. We were so happy with how we were entertained and treated by all the staff and would highly recommend Sunreef Mooloolaba

Went whale watching and booked the day before. Staff were super friendly in the dive shop. Whale experience was amazing and breath taking. We had so many whales around the boat. Crew onboard were great, making sure everyone had what they needed and talking us through the whole experince. Sadly for me, on the way back i had a medical episode, the staff on board were excellent, Anika, you were so nice, thank you so much for taking great care of me. Would recomend Sunreef to anyone, the whole afternoon was awesome and such a great price to.

Booked a double dive shipwreck + nitrox course dive here. Absolutely fantastic. The team was great and our instructor Rick was a legend. They go above and beyond what they need to do. Might have to put up with the drive from Brisbane to make this my main dive club.

Telephone staff/manager rude and not understanding. Wouldn’t recommend. In response to below:I understand your policy and I am aware of the distance to your centre! It was purely how I was spoken to, it was unprofessional. I was further away than planned and wasn’t feeling great to dive which is why I was surprised you weren’t able to refund me any of the 185 dollars I had already paid. As a diving centre I would assume there would be more flexibility on this for obvious reasons.I never write reviews it was just how I felt after speaking to three of your staff! All rude and very short, if they were understanding and polite but still couldn’t issue a refund I would have understood. It was fully how I spoken too that I felt I had to write this! Thanks for reading.

If you want to dive in or just around HMAS Brisbane, then this is the dive shop to use 10min out of the river and 10min to get on-site.. beats bouncing in a boat from Brisbane. The staff here are amazingly relaxed, but serious about what they do. Shout out to Holy is was a great instructor.

Over Easter we joined the Sunreef Snorkel with Turtles at Mudjimba Island, part of the process is an in-depth questionnaire about swimming ability. We had a family group of 6, we advised one was not a strong swimmer. This made no difference to the tour, work it out yourself. When the boat pulls in with approx 25 participants, 2 staff entering the water, 1 left on the boat. You are then required to swim approx 75 m to the area of snorkelling, no mention of this on the website or from the crew brief. No one is checking on the poorer swimmers. We had a family member who only participated in 1/2 of the trip as too much swimming away from the boat. I helped one tourist who was almost having a panic attack as he too thought we were snorkelling close to the boat and was not a strong swimmer. The 2 staff were guiding the group to the snorkelling area. To be honest unless you are a confident strong swimmer, it is not easy to swim in the open sea water. Then another Sunreef boat joined us so 50 swimmers in this one small area of reef. We did see a few turtles, and small fish, we had 2 x 50 mins in the water, back to the same area of the couple of turtles and small fish. Not the best snorkelling experience. The crew were all pleasant young back packers, no issues with the boat safety. Just not confident they were entirely safe in the water. Wetsuits issued no life jackets for those people who filled out the Sunreef forms saying not strong swimmers.

Amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the whales did not want to swim with us on the day, but the crew tried their very best. Seeing the whales, in their own environment, only a few metres from us, was such a thrill. My daughter and I had such a fun day. Money well spent, for an incredible experience. Thank you to Josh, Rikki, Mike & Francine (hope I got the names right).

We had a great experience doing our Advanced diving course with the Sunreef crew at the ex HMAS Brisbane ship wreck. We saw eagle rays, lion fish and a shark on top of the abundance of sea life that live on this wreck. Awesome experience and the instructors and staff are wonderful! Also reading some of the reviews by others: it doesn't matter if the weather looks fine to you" the conditions have to be right and safe and ultimately the dive school is responsible for providing you with a safe and pleasant experience. Trust them. And if you're particular about snacks

We booked in for the snorkelling tour with sun reef mooloolaba and couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience, thanks to jay and Ange in particular for taking us out to Mudjimba island they are full of smiles and made us feel safe the entire time, we encountered dolphins on our way out to the island and also saw multiple turtles while snorkelling on a beautiful sunny day, they provided snacks in between snorkels and we were also lucky enough to see 2 fighter jets fly over aswell. Overall this was a 10/10 experience and would highly recommend
