Loch Ard Gorge
Came here on our way through a Great Ocean Road guided tour. As the pictures show, it was a gorgeous experience with an interesting history provided by our tour guide. Paths allow entry down to the beach and to two separate lookout locations. An easy 5 stars!

When on Great Ocean Road tour, we are taken to Loch Ard Gorge. Scenery is beautiful to look at. It is said that in 1878, there was a ship wreck here. From car parking we have to walk for about 10 minutes and climb down several steps. But view is rewarding.

The story behind this shows the beach as more than just a clear cave looking bed of water. The death or so many and said of cargo still not being found has such a nice history behind it!Also look away from the beach and go to the right to see carvings on the wall dating back to 1980! This place has been an icon for so long holding years and years of life on it! So interesting and worth the drive up!

Just a few kilometers away from the Twelve Apostles so why not drop by for a great view of the Loch Ard Gorge. Parking is free and it is easy to walk to the viewpoints. There are 2 main viewpoints one being slight further than the other and closer towards the ocean. It was worth the short visit en route back to Warrnambool.

This area is a must go in the Australia coastal road trip , loch ard gorge is usually viewed along with the twelve Apostles , and should not be skipped, the beach view makes for great photo opportunities,A short walk down the stairs from the car park and you reach the beach where you see two rock formations with a gap in the middleGorgeous views

An amazing spot to visit along the great ocean road. If you’ve come all this way to visit the twelve apostles then you must come here. Great views of the gorge from the top but it’s best to experience by going down to the beach itself and just taking it all in. Will come back here every time I’m in the area, great spot.

The view was splendid and the geologic cave was there on the opposite side of the beach. There is an epic behind the name of the location and beach. And the entire history is written on the board. The place is quite busy and the tide is huge, so bathing or playing in the beach is not allowed

Loch Ard Gorge
Extremely beautiful place. There’s a spectacular view from the top but the view at the bottom is beyond description. You’ve to get down a few steps to enjoy the full view. We went on a rainy day but the steps weren’t slippery or steep. Crystal clear water. Lot of parking spaces available. 3mins drive from 12 apostles. A must visit.

This is one of the most beautiful, scenic place in Australia along the great ocean road. You can reach here by 2.5 hours journey by road from melbourne also there is an option for helicopter ride to this place and 12 apostles. But if you really want to enjoy this place you need to stay here at least for a night. You can enjoy the serenity of this place if you come early and avoid the rush.

Loch Ard Gorge is one of the stunning places and attractions to visit in great ocean road area. The good thing here is that you could easily access the way going down to the sea level and play with the sands. Kids even toddlers can go down too and play with the sand while looking at the two natured carved structures. You can have a picnic or swim in this place.
