Wow what a difference 2 years makes. We came to Esperance 2 years ago and had fish and chips at Castletown pretty much every night we were here. Couldn't get enough.On our recent trip down, we were salivating at the thought of having fish and chips in Esperance again, but it's far from what it used to be.Argumentative and unpleasant service followed by sub-standard food. Cost has gone up by nearly 50% but serving sizes have reduced by just as much (chip portions and fillets are much smaller).Fish was oily and chips pretty much non-existent, but they were happy to force you to pay $5 extra for something you've already paid for.Batter and fish were of OK quality. Overall the experience falls short of our praise for this location from 2 years ago. Really disappointed as we loved this place before.

Was not happy with the amout of Chips received for the price we paid. We wanted a heap of chips for our family to share. Wanted to order $20 worth of chips, only to be told that the maximum we can order was $12 worth. So we did. The amount received was absolutely disgusting. I will never go there again.

While the fish, chips, gravy and onion rings were delicious, we felt the serving size was not what we were used to from Perth. Serving size wasn't $39 worth, but very tasty. (Specifically, think it was the chips serving size vs value for money that we were disappointed with.)

This fish and chips is ok but nothing special, we got box 4 and it was just enough for the both of us, normally portions are a tad more generous in other shops. Service was quick and nice.

The high reviews is quite misleading. The food is not the best but it's mainly the price that's leaves the gross taste in your mouth. Yes. There is inflation, but dam this box is $10, if you pay $12 you get those extras on top.The wait time was quick and the customer service was lovely but the overall product and price isn't the best. I would seek other options in town first before looking here.Also there dim sims are disappointing when you compare to other fish and chips establishment's, so if you get it don't expect the quality.

Quite simply the best fish and chips - and as my husband said restaurant quality". We were staying at Island View apartments and felt like some fish and chips. Other places were closed

This would have to be hands down one of the best fish and chips shops we have been too. Family of 5 2 grown up children and one 12 year old 2 adults and we had plenty. No the serves aren’t huge but definitely perfect for our family. Fresh not greasy definitely recommend this place

We went to Castletown fish and chips for our Sunday family dinner with a family of 8, we ordered $10 worth of chips and only received the smallest portion of chips, we have 4 kids who wanted chips and when we went home with this amount we where absolutely horrified to see this! On calling the restaurant, the employee laughed in our face, and then when put onto the owner he went on to say that there is a potato shortage and the price of potatoes have gone up, shortly after having the phone slammed in my face from the owner!We understand there is a shortage and prices have increased but there needs to be signs or told on ordering, and just allowing a minimum amount of chips to be ordered! Also the taste of them not the best, they weren’t freshly made.

Friendly service. Good fish n chips. Not Tasmania good ;-) but good!The gummy tastes fresh and flaky not rubbery like some places using from frozen. Homemade dim sims are unique and very tasty! Potato cakes little undercooked for my preference. Chips have a good texture. Went back a couple times I would recommend.

Ordered $10 worth of chips and 5 crab sticks. Very small amount of chips for $10 worth.2 stars because they tasted good.
