Stopped at the Lyrebird cafe after a long walk in the Tarra Bulga National Park for a cup of tea. The cafe is delightful and I had the most delicious slice of homemade Nectarine cake, served with a very generous helping of cream. The staff were amazing and friendly, the food fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my walk. Would highly recommend!

Been coming here for over 30 years and we are treated like family. Nina, Torbin & Thomas are great, while the business is for sale, we hope it never changes.Try the carrot cake!, and ask for a bag of seed for the rosellas and king parrots, and they will join you for a meal on the verandah. The renovated rooms are beautiful, and they are always friendly and accommodating. Covid has been hard on the business, so I highly suggest leaving a tip if you are so inclined.I put the drone up to get some photos of the area.

Great location, nice cosy atmosphere. But! We've been to the cafe 3 times now and honestly I don't know how people can speak so highly of the service, each time we've found it, although friendly, very slow even if not very busy. The last visit (and it will be the last) they lost" our order and waited over an hour to receive our meals. Though the meals where good they weren't exceptional. Suffice to say due to the lack of urgency to serve in a service industry we will not be returning"

Visited many times over the years to bush walk, day drive or motorbike ride to and it really is one of Gippslands hidden gems. The cafe at the guest house is a ripper with a good menu to choose from....and decent sized serves too. Tom and his family are always accommodating and today was no exception. Well done and thanks for your great hospitality!

What a fabulous, quiet little place this is - a true hidden gem. I stayed only one night, deep in the depths of winter, and had a wonderful time. Well heated, with a fire in the guest room, electric blankets and hot showers - you'll never be cold.I went for several of the excellent walks through the forest at dusk and dawn, and despite the freezing temperatures and wet weather, it was well worth it, just so pristine and beautiful. The walks are challenging, and will keep you warm, but be sure to wear appropriate clothing.I saw dozens of lyrebirds, mostly males, some in full song too. A magical experience, one I'll never forget.

What a magical place.Set in amongst some of the most beautiful trees, ferns & scenery in the Tarra Valley region of Vic.The food was amazing, the coffee was hot & the brownie slice ended our lunch to perfection. The young man that owns the place was such a wealth of knowledge too.All home-made, all fresh & all very delicious.Do yourself a favour & drop in if you’re in the area.

Thought that being the only take away store, there would be more varitiety, Maybe some salad rolls, Different flavoured pies, Even though i had their lamb pie and must say it was very nice, Prices abit steep especially when just wanting a quick lunch with a family cost you an arm. Clean, tidy and great location short drive from falls, Beautiful parrots and their mastiff is adorable Beautiful big boy.

Wonderful host, amazing food, we sampled the aloe vera before commencing with our meals by the fireplace. The meatballs, creamy potato salad and rye were amazing! The dessert of homemade lemon cake and carrot cake were equally a delight ❤ worth the drive for just a friendly meal

Family and friends told me to watch out for and visit here for lunch, and I'm so glad we did.The owner must run a one-woman show but she does it so very well! There were already 3 other families seated when we arrived, but our food was brought to us quickly enough and it was lovely and fresh and delicious! Whether you're about to enter Tarra Bulga from Traralgon, or are leaving after coming through from Yarram, do stop for a meal.
