I'm leaving a review for the first line of contact phone staff. They are friendly and helpful.I'm one of these people who has had a conviction and only found out getting my Blue Card was problematic because of this when I applied when starting at TAFE Qld six months back. I was pretty upset as I'd got a NSW Working with Children Positive notice on the exact same information only a year or so earlier! I'm now applying again as I wish to volunteer somewhere.I won't deny it's stressful but honestly I've never felt judged by these phone workers. One of them has this warm, caring professional voice of a radio announcer or professional voiceover. A lovely young man (initial G but don't wish to identify him in case people start asking for him), I wrote an email of appreciation to their feedback centre back then and I got him today. Was so great!Seriously folks, just keep ringing these guys if you're having issues. If you're turned down for Blue Card you can get a letter from your GP, psychiatrist or counsellor to help your case (has to be immediately following). I also found out about a form you can submit 2 years after a negative notice to have it looked at again, but you do have to wait 2 years...Also, I recently found out if your conviction was in a magistrates Court (which most are) it drops off after 5 years and won't show on your national police record that employers ask for and it's 10 years for district court. (Can I add national police record and Blue Card are different entities and there's not an automatic drop off with Blue Card). So the road to redemption is there, but honestly some of these phone workers are truly wonderful!Update - since someone just said who it was I am going to reveal who that great phone worker is - yes, it's Geoff (mistakenly misspelled as Jeff - I made the same error when I sent in the positive email feedback. Long live Geoff!)

Queensland government yet again shows its complete disregard for the average person by pushing this service. a 10-week wait for a card?! How useless can you be? Not one good review and I don't know a single person who is happy with blue card services.YOUR SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I LIVED IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY FOR 5 YEARS!

I had cause to contact Blue Card today. Yes the wait was a bit long but Jeff could not have been more helpful. He pointed me in the direction I need to go to finalise my issue.

Adding to the reviews of people stuck waiting to start work due to the atrocious processing times. Government needs to do something about this! People are out here ready and willing to start work who are waiting three months, six months, and even longer, losing their jobs, their homes, and more. I've been stuck in limbo three months now. I have a job on the line and bills to pay. Not to mention businesses desperately needing employees, and kids out there desperately needing support and help. I have a police check and yellow card, never moved interstate or changed names, so it has nothing to do with the usual excuses they give you. For a developed nation this just sad.

6 months since I applied and still waiting. The decision process is very slow. I was trying to volunteer and paint a local ambulance museum for there 20th anniversary, but that won't happen now.

Wait times make it impossible to get a job especially when you have one lined up but have to wait to be approved! Needs to be an option to at least pay more money to get it expressed/fast tracked ( 3 day turn around).

Whatever happened to blue card services being great? Despite my application being approved over three months ago, I am still awaiting the delivery of my card, even after providing them with accurate and complete information from the start. To exacerbate matters, their document handling procedures are outdated and inconvenient. When I requested a replacement card, they sent me a PDF form without a digital signature field, insisting that I print, sign, and submit a photograph. In 2023, we aren’t allowed to do digital signatures?I expected a higher level of professionalism and efficiency from Blue Card Services, but they have fallen short of my expectations. They used to be great last time I had to deal with them, but it seems like now it’s going downhill.Been almost 4 months waiting to get my physical card.

Governmental and bureaucratic inefficiency and lack of accountability have never been more glaringly obvious than in how Blue Card services progress applications, communicate with applicants, and provide clarity on the process. I was offered a job in Mental Health & Addiction support in a regional indigenous community - the kind of job you would think the Government would prioritise. I applied for a Blue Card on 15 March. I had no disqualifying offences. After three weeks not hearing anything, I contacted Blue Card. I was told over the next three weeks that my file had been lost"

I applied in August 2021!!!! Still waiting for my Blue Card. They always say they are busy and processing. I've lost the opportunity to take over a dozen jobs now because I don't have it.Really bad and the government need to do something about this asap. Wish I could give 0 stars
