Kids loved the role play in the goal

Well worth a visit. The old goal is fascinating in that each cell has a story and the info is great. Just added in the last cell is a new addition to the stories of the district. It is Truth Telling, the story of the Aboriginal peoples of the Noongar mob. Everyone needs to read these stories, to learn the truth, and understand why reconciliation is so important. The early stories are very confronting. Getting to the end there is a real feeling of hope in my heart that these people and their country will be treated with the respect they deserve.Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Nice little bit of history in a country town. Worth visiting when checking out Toodyay. $5 entrance fee. Lots of well presented information and artifacts with some audio presentations.

Lots to see and read. Was very interesting and kids enjoyed the courthouse where they could read the script and really get an idea of what life was like for a convict . Kids really loved going on to each gaol cell and looking at the memorabilia. Well kept and very informative.

Really nicely restored buildings and great exhibits here, mostly housed in the old gaol cells. Dont miss the stables across the road & the old machinery shed out back

It's actually an old prison with court which now been transformed to a museum. Had some cool stuff to offer with stories of some old Toodyay residents and their way of life. Enjoyed the visit. Recommended. Also police horses stable is just across the road. There's a public toilet as well.

It was great to find out that Newcastle Gaol that was in the town of Newcastle is now known as Toodyay. It is fun exploring WA.
