Music Farmers

My local and I’m very grateful for it. Probably one of the best new / used selection of vinyl in the country with knowledgeable but not snobbish staff, great events and a punk DIY ethic that refuses to bow down. A Wollongong institution that ought to be a destination on any serious collectors bucket list, but also an approachable place to buy a gift or T-shirt

10/10 shop, small intimate setting with friendly service, going well above the contract more so than I’ve experienced record digging before. Most record shops have a vibe of making one feel dumb if they don’t know of a certain band dropped as a cultural reference, I found there was no attitudes here. It’s a pleasant standard all round simply for the love and sharing of music. Fair prices in Covid times. Highly recommended when visiting Wollongong. Ten of ten

What a great store. We came for RSD and was really pleased with everything. Great friendly crowd and helpful staff. It certainly was busy but everything ran smoothly. Certainly worth the visit, we'll be back.

A great record store with a excellent curation of vinyl. Staff are really friendly and are always extremely helpful. We're very lucky to have a local record store like this in Wollongong.

Music Farmers are the last and only independent record store left in the Gong and there's a good reason why. Their staff are always friendly and there's new stock daily. I always leave with something I never knew existed happy digging.

I love this place. Give them your money. They deserve it.

Ordered a record advertised as having 2 LPs included, picked it up and they had only given us one of the LPs. Called to let them know that they’d accidentally left one of the LPs out of our order and was told that they had mis-advertised the product (multiple times in the title and the description). Didn’t offer any solution, told me the price was firm, that they didn’t even stock the second LP, and didn’t offer a refund. The 2 LPs were $7 more expensive at another store, which is why we chose Music Farmers. Never had a bad experience with them before, so we’re pretty disappointed

My one stop shop for vinyl. I use to buy from these guys when I lived out of town & their online service was fast & efficient. Since moving closer it’s become a place to drop in & have extensive chat about new music & to hear stuff before buying. They have the best selection of local & national acts. Since expanding into books they have a great selection of books from classics to music biography & other titles... the second hand section is always worth a look with new stuff coming in all the time. It’s actually worth looking through as I’ll often find something I’ve been after at a fair price & in good condition. If they don’t have what you are after they will happily get it in for you at the best price (local district if available or international import). I have been a customer for many years & a supporter of this local institution. I have recommended to overseas friends after limited & exclusive Australian pressings and they have been likewise happy to do business with the friendly & helpful staff at Music Farmers, dedicated fans themselves who also moonlight as DJ’s locally playing many of the artists they stock & sell. I am writing this review after noticing some vicious reviews past few days that are rubbish and were written in spite & designed to tarnish the Music Farmers name.... If you want specialist attention, want to talk with staff that know their product & keep on top of what’s hot & what’s not. Look no further Music Farmers is the place for you. An astounding collection of new and used records, books and posters. Friendly knowledgeable staff. And to top it all off they're talented DJs. A great place for music lovers.
