Too Long, Didn’t ReadThe man with the flat cap (who I think is the owner) went above and beyond in terms of customer service, vastly exceeding my expectations.The Whole StorySo, a little while ago, I bought a GHD Platinum+ hair straighter for my house. I was very happy with it, and as I travel interstate for work a lot, I made up my mind to buy another one for my suitcase. Well… my existing Remington must have realised what I was thinking, because when I reached Melbourne, I tried to straighten my hair on Monday morning, and it wouldn’t switch on. I had to borrow a hair straightener to make myself look presentable, and on my lunch break, I went out to buy the Platinum+ Kit (which includes a brush and a heatproof bag; very important for packing a recently used hair straightener into a suitcase).This is where I ran into problems. Because there was some urgency, I couldn’t just order it online, I needed to find a shop that stocked if. And most were out of stock. It took some creative googling to find Salonmart, and a telephone call revealed they had some in stock. I jumped in my car and raced out there!Upon entering the shop, I was greeted cheerfully by two people (one male, one female, who’s names I unfortunately can’t remember), and I identified myself as having called, and that I was looking for the Platinum+ Kit. The woman said she was the once who answered the call, and went off to get the kit.This is where things went sideways… on inspecting the kit, I was at first very pleased, but then I noticed one small detail… it was the Gold Kit, not the Platinum+ Kit. They didn’t have the Platinum+ Kit… it was out of stock.At this point, the man (who was wearing a flat cap; I think he was the owner) sprang into action. He offered to let me have the Gold Kit, but to swap out the Gold straightener for the Platinum+ straightener at no extra cost!I was so grateful for this! I would not have expected it, because I’m sure it will mess up his inventory, but he did it anyway! I was able to go back to work with my new Platinum+ with heatproof bag and hairbrush… even though the kit was out of stock.This is really going above and beyond… I felt the least I could do was write a google review… so now I have! You really got me out of a tight spot… thank you so much!
