Smithy’s Fish And Chips

Ordered at 1230. Waited till 1.15 for food- shop was not busy and man in shop was rude to his staff. I have worked on the other side of that counter and 45 minutes is not an acceptable wait time. Even on the busiest weekends. Staff were not friendly and seemed ill able to do the job. Food was not worth what we paid for it... soggy chips that had not been drained properly and a over toasted bun on my burger. Will not be returning.

BEWARE! the new owners of this establishment are ripp off merchants. I have been a regular at this establishment for 20 years and lately it has completely gone down hill.Update: just look at the owners replys to her negative reviews. She is a rude and mean person. Dont support this business. Take your wallet else where.I ordered a medium chips and gravey. I noticed they forgot the gravey so I asked them to poor some gravey on. The manager then took my chips threw half of them out and poured some gravey on. I said what have you done to the rest of my chips. She said when you get gravey you get less chips. What a ripp off literally took food out of my hands to throw out.

Great food, service and prices. The only thing they could improve is a menu on their Facebook page as I ordered over the phone but when I went to pick up, there were way more options I would have additionally bought had I known.Easy access to parking and limited seating also available

Absolute rip off would not recommend. Stuffed up the order missed one piece of fish and paid $14 for a burger with few bits of onion, beetroot and what appeared to be a supermarket patty.

Very limited selection of fillings for kebabs. The few times I’ve bought kebabs, the filling had slid down to the bottom of the packaging by the time we walked back to the car (20 seconds) so what we were left with was a soggy wrap and a pile of mushy filling.Decided pretty quickly that we won’t buy kebabs from there again and will just stick to their ‘fish and chips’.Last night, ordered large chips and gravy, the lady on the phone asked if I would like the gravy on the chips or on the side, I said on the side. Sent my daughter in to pay for chips and pick up order, she comes out and says it cost $17!! For a large chips and gravy!! Surely they’ve mixed up the order? I call to ask if they have indeed overcharged me and get told ordering the gravy on the side comes with a price tag of $7. NEVER AGAIN! We’ll be going back over the bridge to our usual places after this.

Shop has gone extremely down hill with customer service and food quality since new owners took over. We have always been regular customers but won’t bother again now. Waited 24 minutes for a large chips and gravy today because they lost my ticket. Several orders went out after my number and when I approached the counter to tell the female owner who is incredibly rude she did not at all apologise and then started to fight with her staff over what my order was and then continued to fight with me when I told her I ordered a large chips at the counter but she kept saying to make a medium. No chicken salt on the chips besides me repeating it 3 times when they kept asking me what it was and once more when I finally got the food, gravy was also stone cold. While waiting I also watched them yell at a poor menu log driver infront of several customers for walking away for just a moment. Owner needs to change her rude tune and lead her team properly not shouting and arguing with them.Cook to order? Yet you didn’t start cooking my order until I went to the counter after 20 minutes of waiting and yet still received no apology just argumentative behaviour which you are still continuing in this reply. Great to know too that you think you can treat your husband so poorly just because he is your husband especially infront of all your customers and staff. I feel sorry for him. You’ll need a whole lot of luck to keep business with your attitude which you’ve just proven to all your future customers too. Reviews have definitely gone far down since the last beautiful owners goes to show why.

Had the fish burger as a combo meal. Not overly something I’m familiar with, had crunch but lacked flavour.Tired and old fit out with mediocre to offensive service

Great burgers never greasy. But I was most impressed by the young girl at the till, she had one hand with a food prep glove but never touched money or the till with it. This to me shows a high level of hygiene.

I used to be a regular but this place has definatly lost it over the last 12 months. I decided to give it another try today but is the same old story and I can say I won't be back. Prices are very high , quality is low and serving size is terrible. I got several items including a medium chips and it was the smallest serve I chips have ever had anywhere , no where near worth the $6 i was charged. It's a real shame , as a local tradie our work crew regularly buy lunch from local shops like this and with the current covid19 environment I like to support local businesses, but when they overcharge like this place does it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth.
