Customs House Hotel
Newcastle doesn't have an abundance of wedding venues in the heart of the CBD, but Customs is a fantastic location. There is space for the ceremony and reception onsite, with plenty of photo options within a short walk. It's also close to tons of accommodation. Definitely more than just a pub!

Went there on a Valentine's dinner. Place was superb. It had maintained the historical vibe, or felt being transported to a European countryside.Though it's busy, we didn't wait too long for the food. Food was great either. Lovely and friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Sitting on the verandah overlooking the park and the water to have lunch was simply perfect. The menu is simple but of excellent quality and presentation. The service is friendly and accommodating. This hotel has been very nicely renovated and being in a historical building it has a lovely character. I would definitely recommended. We will return....

Great location and perfectly setup for a afternoon basking in the sun, sipping away all your worries. Watch people, catch up with friends. The food is very tasty and varied, so you'll find something to love. When we visited, a band was playing, all classics really so all good.

Awesome atmosphere, filled with local history friendly service. Good food drinks try the cheese & wine. Custom House heritage listed is filled with historic photographs and information, has a comfortable elegant dining area, with more room upstairs. High ceilings, Italian interior design it’s gorgeous for romantic dinner or after work drinks. The beer garden is extremely Popular on weekends with live music, and the water fountain!During the week, there is a University night which is usually filled with young students dressed to impress their friends from all countries engaging in lively chit-chat.Classy pub with good selection of meals and wine.Highly recommended 10/10!

Had a wonderful, welcomed Sunday afternoon here after abit of a self guided walking tour around Newcastle in the hot sun. The place had a nice vibe, history and great view with live music outside by soda the band. Had a French Martini which was delightful and the 2x antipasto plates were perfect.Would stop in here again.

Great service, incredible location looking out onto the foreshore. They’ve got a snack menu which we ordered from, serving sizes were quite large. They also have an a la carte menu. In terms of the food the burgers were delicious, chicken wings were a bit dry and disappointing. Side note - if you’re after amazing wings, head to the grain store around the corner.

Had the most lovely night with friends. Sitting outside listening to a very talented young musician The food was delicious plus great service and a seriously good wine list. A great night out.

Incredibly amazed by the food and space. Lunch at customs house was very pleasant and would definitely come back. Servers were very attentive and the food was surprisingly really good.
