Beautifully restored mansion in Launceston, now a B&B with all the trappings of yesteryear with luxury in mind. Large beautifully decorated rooms with several overlooking the city. We chose a king size spa suite, room 8 which had a balcony & spectacular views. Waratah on York is a quiet place to stay, only a 2 min walk to City park & across the road from the aquatic centre. Perfectly positioned with only a short walk to town. Very happy with our stay & lovely staff.

From the warm and friendly welcome & ongoing wonderful service by the lovely woman in in reception ( from Estonia) to the beautifully presented room, my stay was a delight! Parks, the city centre and gorge were all within walking distance. If you are looking for a quality accomodation with character, charm & exceptional service, this is it. Loved my stay!

A lovely historical place which was very clean and it was very hot while we were there and we were upstairs which had air conditioning, thank goodness. The only thing I might like them to add is a microwave, there was only a kettle so that was the only downside, otherwise the bed was very comfy and it was very clean.

Nice old place. Room well appointed. Its on a really steep hill, so probably don't consider this if you can't manage steep slopes or stairs. Also don't expect perfect quiet nights, old buildings have issues like noisy pipes and lack of sound proofing.

Our family of 4 recently stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was newly renovated, nicely decorated, clean and very quiet. It was lovely and spacious and nice to retun to after a day of siteseeing. We will definitely recommend staying at Waratah on York and will stay here again on future holidays to Launceston.

Grand old building. Access may be a bit tricky for older visitors as steps are quite steep to get to it but was an absolutely brilliant stay in this majestic old lady.

What an incredible place to stay in Launceston. Our room was beautiful (King Suite w/ spa) and had SO much more character than your standard hotel - we love that!The decor is gorgeous and the lovely lady at the front desk was very friendly, giving us advice on where to visit around the area during our stay. Very highly recommended! Amazing start to our honeymoon in tassie.

Beautiful room and great price. Only negative for such a grand home a nice bed head or 4 poster bed would make the room so much nicer also rather than a 1990s spa bath a claw bath would suit style of home more just hope that owners don't keep modernising the inside . Furniture should deflect the period of the home and some of it does but some dosnt. Apart from that opinion I would definitely stay again. It's been our 2nd stay and just love the room.

Great value. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in the King Suite with Spa bath. It was very comfortable and lots of space. Cute little sunroom area to relax. The lady at reception that greeted us was very helpful, gave us a map of the area, and assisted us with dinner recommendations. The hotel is a perfect central location, parking was easy. Only con is there are a lot of stairs, so that might be hard if you have a lot of heavy luggage.

What an absolutely lovely place to stay. Exceptional service, and clean rooms. The Hostess that greeted us was so lovely and welcoming. A very big thanks for helping my wife's birthday to be a very special day. Highly recommend staying here for comfort and fantastic service and location.
