One of the most scenic walk ever. Weather was fantastic and we got to see some snow left. Reached the peak and back to ski lift station in 5hours including a lunch break on the peak of Mt Kosciuszko. SIimply amazing!!

Summited Mt K ( Kosciuszko) one week before ski season started. We were lucky enough to get a good dusting of snow days prior which made for interesting hiking conditions. The chair lift was exciting and pretty quiet, no waiting in lines like I have heard can happen in ski season. Chilly winds and a faceful of snow ripped into us as clambered off the chairlift. Theres a shed like structure directly in front which I recommend using to tuck in your thermal undies and batten down any areas you dont want snow to sneak into ( life hack:back of pants and pant legs y'all). Now, the hike...My advice push on! Dont let the nipple hardening winds and labourous walking ( and or dredging/ dragging) your feet through the knee high snow deter you. After the first hill and before first ( professionally allocated lookout) y'all will find a metal grate path and this makes walking way way easier. Weather changes from sunny to snowy in a flash so dont be alarmed. The summit of Mt K, while Im sure is picturesque ( due to the mini blizzard we experienced while on summit all we could see was 50 meters infront of us, alas no rolling landscapes of the high country) the fun and novalty of hiking in the snow was reward enough. Now I can say I have climbed the smallest tallest mountain in Australia AND hiked in the snow. Have a coffee beforehand, take a sandwich ( on the walk not from the cafe, thats called stealing) and plough through till you make it. Mt K may be small compared to Everest but its all we got . Last one to the top is a rotten egg!

Awesome experience to walk to the top of Australia! We used the cable ski ride up from Thredbo and then walked to the top. We had a magic clear day in April with some snow left on the ground from the weekend before.

Decent hike with lovely views. Well preserved, with board walks most of the way to the summit from Thredbo, and the summit path quite well maintained. The views are beautiful in summer with the bloomed flowers.

Easy walk to the summit. Most of it iron boardwalk. Because of the heavy snow in winter there were some snowfields to cross, some a bit steep.

The walk from Thredbo to Charlottes Pass via the Main Range Track was fabulous. Weather for much of the walk was windy and cloudy, but it didn't detract from the experience much, and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk, a energy and varying landscapes. The walk was very popular with others too. When we arrived at the top of the mountain, there were around 30 others, and people arrived and left continuously. On previous walks up the mountain, the views were spectacular, and it feels like a whole different world up there. I very much recommend anyone who thinks they may enjoy walking to give it a go.

If you have time to hike the main range loop it's definitely worth it. Stunning scenery and much quieter than the main drag up to the summit. Can be a bit tricky with the snow cover but still worth it. About a 23km loop.

From Thredbo is a decent moderate hike to the summit. Make sure the weather is clear and stable. Wear good hiking shoes .snow covered for winter months .well worth it .my favourite
