Plantation Motel

First up .Dont believe everything you read negative about this place , i read them and also read john's replies, i stayed on my return trip from down south .Firstly i would like to commend John on his honesty ( i had made a small error when i booked and paid for my nights accommodation) which by the way , i would not have known about .John not only brought it too my attention, but also refunded me the difference in cash .The room i stayed in was clean and light and airy .John was friendly and accommodating.wishing you the best for 2023Cheers

Plantation Motel was absolutely fabulous for myself and elderly grandparents after a long drive from QLD to NSW. It is just off the highway, and nearby a service station. Easy to find.Our host Liam was absolutely beautiful, charming, attentive and caring. Thanks man.Our room was fresh, beds were very comfortable, essential ammenities and the shower had great pressure + heat. Nan and Pop loved it, they wanted to stay again.The price was also great value compared to other nearby towns and motels. Could not fault this place, for a safe comfortable overnight stay, this is it. Will 100% stay here the next time I do the dreaded 12 hour journey.

First off I would like to say a massive thank you to both owners. They went out of their way to help me be on my way after my car broke down. They went out of their way when they didn’t have too. I was very lucky to have them around. Secondly the place was clean, tidy and great location. If I ever need a stop over for the night while travelling through, this will be my first stop. Thanks again guys

What a great find! The retro aesthetic is perfectly paired with sincerely old-school Aussie hospitality. John is a lovely manager who takes care to ensure we have everything we need and is ready with tips for local spots for meals both on the night of the stay and in the direction of our morning departure. He welcomed us more warmly than my mother-in-law does to her home!The location close to the main highway is perfect with minimal road noise. It's in a small hamlet, so a quick 10 minute car trip will get you to shops for anything you need during regular business hours, or from a highway servo.With notice we were able to stay with our dog without problems and with responsive communication on confirmation of the arrangement.Rooms are comfortable with free wifi, microwave, mini fridge and nice hot water in the shower (available between reasonable AM & PM hours I'm guessing due to solar setup).Personal balconies are lovely for sitting and watching the sun set over the cane fields.

I noticed the bad reviews about location. But if you do your homework you would chose a place to suit where you want to be. So I am a little confused.With the new highway in place.This motel is perfect position, you get off the Tyndale exit, within couple mins. Your there.Hotel welcome was warm and genuine. Room is clean. Beds were very comfortable, sheets fresh and clean. Shower was good, high pressure hot water.I honestly couldn’t fault it.I would recommend it as stop over, but the area is beautiful. You could request balcony room for beautiful view.

What a great spot for a stopover! John your host is brilliant! Great country hospitality and charm. The rooms are tidy and clean and the bed was super comfy. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again what so ever! Even more charm was added when The General" rolled out along with an old American Police car!"

So adorable. Like being at Grandma's house with new age comforts.Rooms looked, smelt, and felt clean.John was so accomodating and friendly.Super convenient right off the highway.

Perfect stopover for the price and we were very happy with this quirky retro place - very clean, good size room and good location to the highway - I dont recall highway noise as we slept well. We were very delayed in our arrival, so we let John know. He advised us to take our time and stop over in Coffs for dinner as the local places were closed for the long weekend. He did not mind us arriving super late and was very accomodating and friendly upon our arrival.

I can easily recommend this Motel. The room was large and well appointed, comfy bed, desk, couch, microwave and so on. The bathroom, while dated, was fine - excellent shower pressure, for example. The location is quiet and has a nice view across the fields (and the old Pacific Highway), only around 25mins to Grafton. Some traffic noise but not regular or loud enough to be a problem. The staff were very friendly as well. This accommodation suits overnight stops, as well as a longer stay - I stayed for a week for work and will stay here again.My only real negative is that the wifi was weak and inconsistent to the point I gave up. Not a deal breaker for me though.

This is a perfect halfway stop for us just off the highway. The room was clean, bed was comfy and though the rooms are older retro style and might not meet everyones 5 star rating the host John was definitely 5 star and more creating a great atmosphere Thank youWill definitely be back
