MetroBOX Mobile Storage

Had booked two containers and two movers to come to the house. 1 hour late, 13+ phone calls between myself, subcontractors and headoffice over the move, the movers arrived with one truck and no containers, took longer to move a garage’s worth of items than it took me to move a whole house and this clustermess is still not over. The driver of the truck called me several times to ask me where my stuff is going so when I tried to call Metro to get clarification for him, they were unavailable. Poor, useless and frustrating service. I’ll be moving my stuff out of their storage the moment I pick my jaw off the floor at how terrible this experience was.

The guys turned up as arranged and called 30 mins before arrival as promised. The 2 guys worked their hearts out in 37degrees to pack the metro boxes on a property with lots of stairs. At all times they were friendly and courteous. A job well done. Thank you Metro box

My initial experience with Metrobox was great. Arranging removalists was easy, they came on time collected my furniture and were friendly and professional. Unfortunately once they had my furniture the experience changed completely. Getting my furniture back was a horrible experience… I called on a Monday to organise Friday delivery. They were unable to confirm availability, were only worried about the money I would owe before agreeing to return my furniture, were very rude and uncaring and kept telling me they would call back but didn’t. I had to keep chasing and at one stage I was told I would have to pay an extra $100 if I could not save a lift for them all day. Finally late on Tuesday they tell me they would deliver with the caveat that they can’t give a set time (I don’t mind, just happy for delivery to be arranged by this point).I collect keys to my apartment Friday morning and go and wait at apartment. (Lucky my helpful building manager agreed to hold the lift for me all day, just FYI). At 1pm get a call from Metrobox “sorry we wont be able to deliver your box today. You’re welcome to come get it yourself if you like” (Haha seriously! I am one girl without a truck ;) and I have paid $230 for Friday delivery) or we can deliver tomorrow between 8 – 9am tomorrow”. I agree to Sat morning delivery.Sit there furniture-less waiting on Sat morning…“Sorry due to circumstances beyond our control we don’t know when your box will arrive”…by this time I’m not surprised.Lucky they came only an hour or so late, and to be fair, the delivery guys were fantastic and were so careful with my furniture / apartment, (hence not 1 star) however I would highly not recommend Metrobox. Moving is stressful and the people I dealt with (on the phone, not the delivery guys) were so unhelpful and just wanted more money. I completely understand they were busy on the Friday but they should have just said no, because wasting a whole day when you work full time and you’re moving is so draining/frustrating and while I can laugh I about it now, I wasn’t laughing at the time :(The problem with Metrobox’s model is once they have your furniture they kind of have it hostage because you can’t collect it yourself (unless you have a truck), you have to organise someone to go to Mulgrave and reload it, which is obviously just inconvenient / expensive. I have heard great reviews about Taxibox from two friends. Taxibox are more flexible (ie. you can collect the box yourself or they will do it for you) so I would recommend looking into that option if I were you :)

One of my better moving experiences! The team (Ariana) at Metrobox were very attentive with communication around the appointment. The lads (Pedro, Renzo, Hansel) worked efficiently to Tetris my belongings into two units. I chose this company because they do the moving and deliver it anywhere!

WARNING!DO NOT sign up for hourly rate or provide them your card details...They will:- hold your items at ransom- bill you for travel time- take longer than expected- send a truck that is too small requiring multiple trips x hourly rate- driver / loader will sign the timesheet irrespective if you disagree- charge your card anyway- force you to use their service for a second move / keep you in duress- refund a token / nominal amount leaving you ripped off

Submitted a last minute request when a rental I had lined up fell through. I was a stressed and anxious mess (I have only just started relaxing and it’s been over 2 months)- Felisha called me 1 hour after I submitted the form, she was very friendly and made it so easy to organise removalists to bring my items from South Melbourne to Metrobox facilities - they fitted all my items into 1 metrobox and I was kept up to date as it was happening.Now two months later I have stuffed up my accounting somehow, Sonia contacted me; again incredibly friendly and again made it incredibly easy for me to bring the billing up to date.I’m so impressed by this company, their reps are efficient, friendly and just all round lovely.

We had our treasured belongings picked up and stored with Metro-box for 18 months and can highly recommend this as a number 1 option for pickup and storage.

What a great way to store your stuff and hassle free too! From the get go it was easy to book and the team that loaded the Metrobox handled my items with care and caution. Would highly recommend to anyone.

After being let down by smart box, taxi box and (on the day) CBD movers never showed — metro box shone strong and true. The day before Adrian in the contact centre got it all organised, on the day the guy showed up on time (and even were kind enough to organise things with me as my alarm didn’t go off and I had to take my kid to daycare which took over an hour)..the guys were quick, swift an got it all done in 3-4 hours…amazing and 10/10 recommend
