I have been riding Howie surfboards for 7 years getting multiple boards a year and I have never had a dud board they have all been amazing! I order boards with an idea of what they will feel like and they always meet or exceed my expectations. Have surfed a large range of his models from small wave models to bigger wave models and never been let down . I would highly recommend purchasing one of these boards if you want to improve your surfing !!

Howie and I have been working on a range of different boards over the past two years spanning from small wave boards, short boards, step ups and guns. As a larger guy it had been difficult In the past to find surfboards that are higher volume but still allow for high performance surfing. Working closely with Howie and having built a relationship where we can tweak and refine the boards based on critical feedback has been greatly beneficial to my surfing experience. I think that surfer & shaper Communication is paramount to making good boards and it’s something that Howie values immensely .

Just want to say l have been working with Luke for about 20 years with boards. He has shaped over 20 boards for me He has always adapted his shapes to suit my needs as l have got older. His knowledge of designing and listening to what l require has been second to none.My newest board is 6’ 20 inch wide 3/14 thick Twiney stabilize this is true testament of what he can do.I have been surfing for 40 years and l glad that I have meet a shaper that is brilliant and also a life time friend . A rare service to find! Money cannot buy knowledge gained over time watching shaping and surfing your own equipment. Howie Shapes is a wealth of knowledge and provides old school attention to detail and quality which is rare in a fast food world. We were soo stoked to find and work with Howie for our kids as we had no knowledge about what kids should be riding. Howie is generous with his time and knowledge and will work with you for a custom fit surfboard to nurture your individual skill level. We definitely notice a huge advance in our kids surfing from having custom hand shaped boards.

He works with you and watches your surfing to tailor the perfect board.I’ve had plenty of boards off him and they just keep getting better and better!:)
