Torakina Beach
A relatively safe family bathing beach inside the Brunswick River's breakwalls, Torakina Beach is accessed by foot through Torakina Reserve. It serves as an esguarine recreation area for swimmers, kayakers and pedestrians.A nearby amenities block with public toilets and change area in Torakina Reserve is complimented by an outside cold-water shower and several covered picnic table areas to both the north and south of South Head Road. The nearest gas-BBQs are in the parks on the Br unswick Heads side of the river.Free car parking is available adjacent to Torakina Reserve and along South Head Road to the Brunswick Heads Surf Lifesaving Club / tennis courts and Community Centre.Pedestrian access is readily available from the road however while prams and bicycles are able to be used on the mown grassed, wheelchair access to the beach itself is difficult as the reserve does not include any formed paths.A community art event has been held in recent years and a sculpture walk has been proposed. Several public art works have been incorporated permanently in the reserve areas near Torakina Beach.

It really depends on the time of the year that you don’t get much swell on this small pocket beach. We had fun though even on a short period of a dip. Not advisable if you have a toddler without any floaters on if you’re planning to go for a swim as the swell can swoop you off the shore. It can also get busy and crowded at times especially on a weekend or holiday.

You can find almost everything around here. Ocean waves, river, family beach suitable for kids, snorkeling, bathroom and showers, parking, cafe and restaurants, ...

Amazing location at the mouth of a river and beach, great spot for families, parking is a nightmare in holiday peaks but worth the walk. You can do most activities here just go main beach for surfing etc. Bonus is at the moment you can swim with the dolphins they have been coming into the inlet. Amazing experience.

Wow! I had no idea this was here until I walked past. Aqua super clear water in a lovely protected spot. Looking at a photo of a sunny day you'd be forgiven thinking this is at a tropical holiday resort. A great spot for young kids to splash about and play too, so well worth checking out during any trip to Brunswick Heads.

Absolutely beautiful. No crowds - part of why I loved it. You can walk for miles and only pass a handful of people. Rough surf, but there is a calm swimming spot on the other side of the jetty if desired. There are generally more people over there, though.

Really nice beach. We parked in town and then walked here (parking at the beach is very limited). The advantage not parking in town is taking in the scenery along the way. The beach is very calm, but make sure you don't get too close to the bar, as the waters are rapid there.

Yeah this beach is sweet, lots of parking, walking distance from the pub, good surf and not bad fishing. Went down on a fairly stormy day but still had a swell time (see what I did there, I'm actually talking about a beach and used the word swell)Stop reading this and go check it yourself.
