Knox Private Hospital

This is the best hospital I have ever experienced. The staff are exceptional, professional, friendly, caring, and accommodating. At all levels of staffing they obviously enjoy their work and at it shows in their care or their patients. Thank you to everyone so very much

I have already forwarded an email expressing our enormous appreciation of the attention given to my wife Cynthia Kerley in your emergency department on Sunday 28th May 2023. Subsequently Cynthia was admitted to Chesterfield Ward Room 23 on the same date. The wonderful care and attention provided her by all the staff was absolutely superb. From the specialist doctors, to the nurses and ward staff their empathy and caring was excellent. Also the lady who assisted her with her discharge at 10.00am on 1st June, was again lovely and so helpful with the process.PLEASE PASS ON OUR HEARTFELT APPRECIATION TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE RELATIVE TO HER CARE.

I had a total knee replacement in March ‘23 and the two bed ward was dirty. The nurses took far too long to answer the call bells when I was in excruciating pain. I didn’t eat for 4 days while thete because the food was disgusting. I was left on a bed pan at night for up to an hour and one time wry the bed because the night nurse didn’t come for over half an hour even though I called out. They had to roll me in the bed to change the sheets and it caused excruciating pain and I had to asked to be washed from the urine all over me and a clean gown it was a dreadful experience and as an ex ED nurse myself I felt the cate was non existent. Couldn’t wait to be transferred to Melbourne Eastern rehabilitation hospital which was incredibly clean, food restaurant, quality and all the staff here, very attentive to me from the cleaners, and the allied staff along with the nurses, I couldn’t fault them. Such a contrast to Knox private and I wouldn’t recommend it.

My Wife required a procedure at Knox Hospital and the service by all concerned could only be described as EXCELLENT. The care that was given in all areas was great as every employee was really nice, caring, and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. It was such a great feeling to have people around you that actually cared to ensure your stay was as comfortable as possible. Well done Knox Hospital.

Landed on both my wrists in a netball game and was terrible pain, called the hospital before coming in and was told to come into emergency. Waited 5 hours to get a bilateral x ray. Finally after being taken for an X-ray the imaging staff were only going to X-ray one wrist… what? I had to demand that I was told when being admitted I would be getting both wrists an X-ray (after waiting so long there was no way I was going to leave only having ONE wrist checked for a break) as I had landed on both wrists. Finally they did. I had to pay $450 just to talk to someone and just to go through admission. My private health insurance covered nothing. I was sent out two seperate invoices, one for two seperate X-rays plus another seperate invoice for an arm sling from this hospital, I was never explained of these costs at the hospital. So now I have to pay just shy of $300 in these extra costs after returning back home. Totalling nearly $750! I was provided no aftercare or further advice on what I found out was a hairline fracture elsewhere! :( What a joke…. Generally I have immense respect for the healthcare industry but I do not believe this is fair treatment. I’m so angry and feel like my money was taken and was not provided with adequate care. I have attended this hospital since I was young but now I don’t want to ever come back in fear of having my money taken and not actually getting proper care or given upfront information on what the out of pocket costs may be. The system does not work and it needs to change. I should of just gone to a public hospital, I’ve leant my lesson now.

Recently, I had a keyhole operation done at knox private. The experience was smooth and trouble-free. Of course, we all want to be admitted the moment we arrive, but I understand it is a priority-based system. During my two-night stay, the nurses took extra steps in providing care that I would describe as almost hotel like service.Though they were clearly very busy, when attending to me, they paid attention and listened. I particularly appreciated their proactive approach; for example, they regularly checked on my pain levels. To summarise, I felt safe and informed throughout my stay. I take my hat off to the nurses from the Waratah ward. Oh, by the way, the doctors there are pretty awesome as well.

I undertook total hip replacement surgery in this hospital on 7 March. I was out of hospital on 11 March and I am now already able to walk on my own without aid or support (20 March). The nursing staff was very attentive to details to make me comfortable and pain-free. After discharge from hospital , the hospital arranged to send nurses and physiotherapists to come to my home to give after-care rehab service which is extraordinary - I highly recommend this hospital to anyone thinking about hospitalisation and treatment.

I went to pick up my friend at this hospital after she had surgery and stayed overnight. The nurses and the carers were very rude! The worse hospital I have ever been. My friend was in so much pain before discharge. She requested few pain killers, the nurse came in and rolled her eyes screamed to my friend that she would get the medication at the pharmacy. The carers kept coming to chase my friend if she was ready to leave. They came in to check if she was ready to go at least 4 times. She wasn’t able to walk without the pain killer. This hospital is very unfriendly, discriminated. I will tell all my friends not to come again!!! We pay for private hospital access but treated as public.

I came in with a back pain, quite severe! First and foremost let me introduce my self. I am an International student from Sri Lanka. I do not have any sort of help in Australia. Since I slipped a disc, I came to this hospital emergency for treatment and an X-Ray. I was kept in the waiting room for hours and hours. I wasn’t seen immediately. I was given some hospital outfit to wear and later told to go to the waiting room. I don’t understand how long it can take it to take an X-Ray. They kept me waiting from 3pm to almost 9.30pm6 hours of nothing, a doctor visited me yes good, I had a very friendly nurse as well but other than that time management and service is nill. Nobody knows what’s going on. Inspite of all of this and me having an international student health cover they charged me 340 AUD which apparently I cannot claim.End of the story- this hospital is a big fat joke to me and it doesn’t deserve any kind of accoladesThank you

I’m a patient staying here now. Nurses are lovely but there are serious issues It’s now 11.20pm and I still haven’t received my IV antibiotics for a serious infection which was due at 6,00pm. Almost 6 hours late and counting. Go to another hospital!
