There is something seriously wrong with the way Henny Penny Thornton NSW is being run. We have gone to buy a bbq chicken on 3 different occasions in the last 2 months and was told there was no chicken. Today at 5.30pm we were told that there were no chicken for another 45mins. Surely given that it is coming on dinner time, and people stop in after work they would be better organised.

Great food. Most is cooked when ordered. All staff are nice and friendly to customers and staff. Staff love having a few jokes with customers as there waiting for food. Clean dining area. Still pretty quick service even during peak hour times.

Chips are the best around and I always get generous portions of chicken. Staff are always pleasant ☺️.Keep up the good work.

I always come to this Henny Penny every time I come to Newcastle. It’s been great so far except my last visit. I ordered a 3 piece meal and was given a regular size chicken piece and 2 VERY small pieces. They also smelt a little funky and old.

Monday night. Crispy fried chicken - tough, chewy, soggy and greasy - awful. Won't go again. Tried it because I'd eaten from the branch at Wallsend and it was consistently excellent.

I don't get food from here often as im not a really keen on take away but the 4 times i have been here, the food has been absolute rubbish.Today, i visted for lunch and opted for a chicken and Mayo roll combo, the food was already made. The roll was sitting in the hot box already bagged up. Got home which is literally around the corner, started eating the chips. They tasted like they had been sitting there for hours so i gave them to my dog. the last straw for me was getting half way through my chicken roll to find a cockroach inside. Straight back up there to let them know. The girl that served me was lovely and offered me a refund and apologised.The customer service is great but the food quality is shocking.

I have little trust in takeaway shops in my area as the chips are either burnt, dry or just grease and no potato. So for a while, I stopped buying hot chips all together which is a shame as they are my favourite food. However, Henny Penny chips are the best around in my opinion. The gravy too. I go there frequently and the staff are always very lovely. They are a little expensive but that’s not the stores fault. I think it’s worth the money, esspecially when you are hungry.Update: As much as I love this store, they messed up alot last week. My Mother purchased two large chips and they were undercooked. It was like biting into an apple. Dinner was ruined because it was so hard and raw that we couldn't eat it. Waste of money that we barely have. However, they haven't messed up since so that was a once time occurrence. Overall, i love it. :)
